I think it's all good. Hey, this is animation, not real life--you can do whatever the hell you want through this medium because no real child has to live it out. A lot of times, people just can't help what they like (homosexuality, for instance).
The reason I'm not supportive of most real life shota--that is, underage individuals engaging in such activities--is that the minors often aren't mature enough to give informed consent to the activities. Since they can't give legal consent, I don't really like it...the same way I don't really like RL bestiality. Aside from that, if the kid is pretty damn mature and knows what's going on, even if it's RL, I think it's pretty much okay.
So yeah, shota's all good in my book. You gotta give people something--it's RL child porn that I draw the line on.

I don't have anything against it, but I mostly ignore it as it's not my thing.
It's art and they're not real little kids, but I think I tend to connect them to real little kids. And since I know real little kids, it's like...eh, no.
Also, intelligence. Fictional characters are always damn smart and they can do almost anything. That said, these shota kids are probably smarter than actual kids....but I tend to think of them as having the intelligence of an actual kid that age.
And real eight year olds (or twelve or whatever) are in no way intelligent enough to understand those kinds of situations. They're not stupid or anything (I think a lot of people under-estimate children), but they're certainly not /mature/ enough...
I think I'd give it more of a chance, if I could learn to separate the two better. But then again...I prefer teens/men, so even if I did separate fiction from reality- it /still/ wouldn't float my boat. *sinks*
To each their own. *shrugs* smile
