[ I'm getting a lot of strange/illicit pop-ups or ads! ]

In this case, you may have ad-ware or spy-ware installed on your computer. If you click HERE you can get an 'official' definition of ad-ware, but in layman's terms:

Ad-ware is a program that is installed onto your computer, often without any information on it, that will randomly, but purposefully, create ads and pop-ups to appear on your screen, even when you are not even surfing the internet. It can detect if you are online, what you are doing, and can even track it. These are just as pesky as Spy-ware, which is used by companies to spy on what you do on the computer. They are often less annoying than ad-ware, but can create serious problems for your system, as they can both change registery settings or tell other people what you are doing on your computer.

These files can be extremely annoying, and in some cases, dangerous to you, if not just your computer. The best solution? Remove them. This, however, can be very tricky, if not impossible, to do by yourself. What you'll need is some help. Two programs I strongly recommend downloading and installing to combat these invasions are Lavasoft's Ad-aware 6 and Spybot: Search and Destroy, and I highly recommend downloading and using both. Each program alone is wonderful but they each miss something the other will pick up.

After installing Ad-aware 6 I highly recommend attempting to update it as this will definitly help in finding these unwanted files. Simply click the start button and select the recommended scan and it go to work. After it is finished scanning it will show you either an extremely large list or a tiny one. Whichever it may be, right click and select select all or similar, then continue. This will remove all of the unwanted objects. You may look through this list for objects you want to keep, but for the vast majority of us, this should not be an issue.

After installing Spybot: Search and Destroy, run it in easy mode and then update it. After updating, simply click Check for problems. After it finishes checking for problems, you may view the possible/definite problems. After checking them and unchecking any you wish to leave safe, just check the Fix selected problems button and viola! You're bug free.

Midaddle.com - Apparently, Midaddle is not discovered and fixed by either of these programs. You need to uninstall it to remove it.
Arulan
Go to My Computer, C Drive, programs, midaddle, uninstall. Or, use the start menu and search for files and folders and search for midaddle and use the uninstaller. I had it too.
