The sun had been hidden behind thick clouds since early morning, though the summer heat still dominated the area as it had for days already. This season was always particularly harsh on Ivanna, but this year the hot weather had rolled in with a vengeance. Even leaving the house to make the short walk to work was worse than summers before, as fully covering as her clothing was. Still, it was better than dealing with a sunburn.
Each night she would draw a cold bath, but as soon as the water went warm she would step out into her sealed up house and immediately regret not adding a bucket of ice to it or something equally silly. Perhaps it would have been a good idea to open the windows, draw back the curtains, just let the house breathe, but this was how she had always done it and she wasn't likely to change that. Her small home would remain a heat trap until autumn finally began to cool the air again.
However, considering how far off that next lovely season was, the Lycan knew something had to be done before she lost what was left of her sanity in the stifling heat. Today was a day off from work and, with the clouds blocking most of the sun's stinging rays, she thought maybe, just maybe, it would be alright to head down to a more secluded part of the marshlands and go for a swim. The open air with its breezes and the cool water that would never go warm... She was actually looking forward to it.
The townsfolk probably thought her foolish as she traveled through Valail in a heavy black cloak, the hood pulled far over her head. She had already donned her bathingsuit and tucked a change of clothes under her arm, not exactly liking the idea of changing out in nature, so the best way to keep the prying eyes of her neighbors off of her skin was to keep it from their eyes. Yes, it was hot, but it was worth it.
By the time she made it to the edge of the water, the sun had traveled far past the noonpoint, but luckily the clouds had stuck around and it was almost impossible to tell. Ah. The water. As she gazed down at it, it looked almost comforting. One more cautionary scan of the area assured her she was alone, she had purposefully traveled much further and away from the areas used for farming and water collection. Pulling her hood back, she shook out her short hair, then rolled the cloak back from her shoulders and let it fall away.

Tuvic had been up about the same time as the birds, giving him enough light to spot any deathcoats that may be in the area but enough darkness to hide from the village he was about to leave. Again he had failed horribly to woo a pretty little thing and subsequently had also gotten himself into a large amount of trouble with the village leader for his actions.
It wasn’t like he had meant for a fireball to go flying at the mayors head, nor for him to grab the wrong dinner while he was at the tavern. However, it seemed no matter what he would say, the hot-tempered head would stop at nothing to lock him up. Fortunately for him, he had been in a mess such as that before, and with willy nilly fingers, easily broke himself free of his wooden prison.
Wiggling out of his wooden cage, Tuvic grinned, raising his hands in the air and thanking the gods for giving him both lycan and lyre blood. Thus, casting Sky blessing on himself, granting him a boost of speed. What better way to run away after all?
Darting between buildings and large objects, the hybrid carefully made his way towards the forest and riverside before all out dashing for it and not caring how far he went, or what time it was. It was only after his feet began to ache and his stomach rumbled that he decided to slow down.
Taking a deep breath in, Tuvic sighed, ears drooping somewhat from the current situation. He hadn’t had the opportunity to trade for more supplies and only had a few pieces of bread left in his satchel, along with a piece of deer jerky. Chewing his lip in thought, he pondered what to do. Eat and drink by the river then hopefully run into a village, or continue and hope something came up soon. Lemonade-colored eyes took a quick look up towards the sky; it was noon, possibly later. He had made his decision, quickly taking his bag off his back and throwing himself into a nearby tree to rest.
“Time for lunch!”
His voice was a bit hoarse, but his enthusiasm was still there. Nothing would get him down, he wouldn’t allow that. Pulling out his loaf with haste, the bright lime colored character started to shovel his slightly stale bread into his mouth. Chewing quickly, and almost choking in the process. Swallowing a couple gulps of water he felt better, and then went back to his bread, this time chewing much slower.
It was then that noises stared. Someone was close-by, soft sound of fabric and footsteps giving them away. Was he perhaps closer to a village than he thought? Puzzling over the thought for a moment he decided that no he was not close to others. Not enough foot traffic, nor any litter. So who was this person?
Peeking around the tree he was hidden by he caught the sight of a pale figure and was floored. Was he ever lucky or what? She reminded him of the meat of a coconut, and her body was so slender, tail amazing, hair boyish but adorable. Now he had something to look at while he ate. Perhaps enjoy in other ways as well.
“MMm-hmm, lucky me! Finding a coconut so far from the tropics.”
