Namikaze Minato, the Yellow Flash of Konohagakure. Minato graduated the Ninja Academy at the age of ten years old and was assigned to be a genin under the teachings of Jiraiya, one of the three legendary Sanin of Konoha. Jiraiya was interested in Minato's abilities and genius, so he chose him as his apprentice and taught him many things, including the Summoning Technique. Jiraiya believed he was the child of a prophecy that told there would someday be someone who would save the world. Minato's skills were unbelievable; he was the creator of the Rasengan, and could use the Flying Thunder God technique very well. In time, Minato was assigned three genin of his own; Hatake Kakashi, Uchiha Obito, and a girl named Rin. Not even at the age of thirty, Minato was requested to be the Yondaime of Konoha. At some point during his reign, he read one of Jiraiya's books, and was so drawn to the lead character's headstrong and never-quit attitude, he decided to name his unborn son after him. Jiraiya was then appointed as Naruto's godfather. Because Kushina, Minato's wife, was the jinchūriki of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, special arrangements had to be made for Naruto's birth. Since the seal keeping the Nine-Tails within her would weaken during childbirth, Naruto would secretly be delivered in a remote location outside Konoha. ANBU would guard the area and Minato would maintain the seal while Kushina went into labor. Soon after Naruto was born they were found by Uchiha Madara. Madara killed all of the ANBU and took Naruto hostage, threatening to do the same to him. Minato was able to take Naruto back, but this gave Madara the chance to escape with Kushina. Minato found a safe place to put Naruto and then teleported to Kushina. He arrived in time to stop the Nine-Tails, having been removed from her body, from killing her, and teleported back to Naruto. Minato reunited mother and son and then went to help defend Konoha from the Nine-Tails. After weakening the Nine Tailed Fox with the Dead Demon Consuming Seal, he would soon seal the beast into his son, along with Kushina and his chakra so that one day, they could see their son again.
