Greetings, PWF! Yes, I know; it's late again. =P I certainly hope the wait was worth it. So without further delay, I give you your 45th Pokemon of the week. Flareon, the Flame Pokemon. The random generator was good to me, as I love Flareon. Not as cool (or battle adept) as a good Umbreon, but still a likable Pokemon. Okay, lets get on with this, shall we?

HP: 65
Attack: 130
Defense: 60
Special Attack: 95
Special Defense: 110
Speed: 65

If you are aware or not, all Eeveelutions have the same stat levels. The difference being what stats have what numbers. Eeveelutions always have an amazing 130 base in a single stat, Flareon gets that in attack. So wait, this means with the proper nature a Flareon can have an attack of 394! That's simply amazing. But it's massive attack is offset by one glaring factor. It doesn't have many useful moves that utilize it. It's like Arceus was taunting us. xD Another thing is that it's second highest stat is in Sp. Def, so it's not gonna be sweeping any time soon (unless you give it a Choice Scarf or something.) So lets take a look at the (few) good moves our little firefox has.

Fire Fang: This, is the best you will get with Flareon. It's a very average move, and it doesn't even have a 100% accuracy. But this is the best way to utilize STAB and Flareon's massive physical Attack.

Return: This move is always good on a physical attacker (assuming your Pokemon loves you.) Great damage that's neutral against most types.

Superpower: Ridiculously powerful one shot kind of move. A good time to use it would be if Rock type comes out, all ready to wall your poor Flareon. Then you pull this out of nowhere.

Flame Charge: In the right situation, this can be very dangerous. Especially if you can utilize Flareons decent Sp. Def. to get a few of these off. A fast Flareon is a dangerous Flareon.

Fire Blast/Heat Wave: Flareon has decent Sp. Atk. A bit average yes, but these moves are rather powerful. So if someone tries to stop you with a physical wall, you can suddenly switch over to these Sp. Atks. Fire Blast if you don't mind the inaccuracy, and Heat Wave if you want a bit more accuracy and power in exchange for being able to fire multiple shots.

Flash Fire/Guts: Flareon's natural, and Dream World abilities. Not much to say about them other than they're both quite useful, but very situational.

Now, the negatives,

Move pool: It doesn't make good use of it's abilities. Why can it not have Flare Blitz? That would be awesome.

Low Speed: This pokemon won't be sweeping without proper set up, despite it's massive attack.

Stealth Rocks, Spikes, and Earthquake: The curse of the Fire type.

So, in closing. Flareon is a rather average Pokemon. And there are so many other choices to do it's jobs. But, Flareon is a popular Pokemon, as are all the Eeveelutions. I personally admire it's elegance. It just looks like it could burn you to a crisp, and look smooth doing it. So if you're one of those that still wants to use it despite it's lackluster performance (I myself may be training one now. xD), then I hope this guide gave you some insight into ways to help the fire type put up a good fight.

Lol, I think it should still get skull bash like it did from Gen 1.

Great job.
