I was wondering if any of you have tried using compost tea as a fertilizer. I just made my first batch, and was wondering if there are any good tips/tricks for making and using it. Just how effective is it, and what other organic fertilizers can I make at home? Do I even need to use anything else? Oh, and it's being used to feed vegetables (tomatoes, broccoli, lettuce, basil, carrots, etc.) , if it matters.

Have not tried compost tea yet, though I want to. Waiting for my compost to finish first. Let us know how it goes!

I watched a few videos on it, some people have it in a crate and a window screen along the sides and let it steep in water for a while. Others uses burlap or cheese cloth bags filled with compost and steep it in water over night then put the compost back into the pile or add it to the bed. But the one thing they've all emphasized was to use all the liquid since it doesn't keep very well.
From what I heard is, if your compost is good then your tea will be good. I'm guessing its a way to feed your plants and water them without disturbing the soil around them and their root system.
