Here is where I am going to put up some terms and abbreviations that are used a lot in the AMV/GMV community, because I see people having to ask about what they mean so often.
If you can think of any please leave a comment so that I can add it to the list. Also if you can write a better description of some of these things too.
YouTube Terms Wrote:
AMV - Anime Music Video
A video made up of anime clips with an audio track over the top of it.
GMV - Game Music Video
A video made up of game clips (gameplay itself or cutscenes) with an audio track over the top of it.
MMV - Manga Music Video
A video made up of parts of manga pages with an audio track over the top of it.
FMV - Fan Made Video
A video made by a fan...
It has other meanings but this is the main YouTube based meaning.
MEP - Multi Editor Project
A video that is made by more than one editor. Someone divides up a single song that people can either choose the part of that song to make a video to, or they are given a part of the song instead. Once all of the parts are finished someone then puts all parts together in to a single video.
Collab - Collaboration
Kind of like a MEP but generlly with less people (exactly how many people makes it not be a collab anymore but a MEP instead I'm not exactly sure, my opinion is 4 parts, but who knows )
WORM - (Don't know what it stands for)
A video that is made up of parts made by different editors using different songs. These are usually a compilation of different parts of songs by the same artist.
Beta - (Don't think it really stands for anything, but could be wrong)
Some people would argue that it is just a first draft of a video, but other who say that it is just a short video. (What does everyone else think?)
BBT - Beta Battle Tournament
A BBT is like a competition where you go up against other people to try and make a video (generally) around a certain theme or with some kind of restriction or rule to follow.
Mini AMV/GMV/MMV
An AMV/GMV/MMV that only uses part of a song.
SV
Sony Vegas - A video editing program.
AR
Aspect Ratio - Relates to the height and width of the video e.g. 16:9 or 4:3
