As the pups turned from a pile of fur into individual pups Aleu smiled. Verse's reaction made her laugh a bit. Yes the litter was big, but certainly they could manage five pups, especially with so many helpful wolves in the pack. "It's a good sized litter." She lowered her nose to the single female of the litter, the one that looked at a quick glance so much like one of her brothers. "A daughter," and then she nosed the other four pups, "and four sons." The pups wiggled about, some calling out to her and their siblings. Using her nose Aleu gently pushed them towards her belly knowing that they were hungry.
With the pups now nursing she looked up at Verse. "No, I haven't named them yet, I wanted to wait for you." Well that wasn't a complete truth, she had thought of a couple of names since they were born and since Verse was here she decided to share them with him. Nosing the two mostly identical pups she said. "I have though of names for these two. The girl can be Rhythm and the boy Rhyme." There had been a few more similarities between the two that made Aleu come to those names. Mainly that the two seemed to be close even at such a young age, and their small calls had been both rhythmic and at times seemed to rhyme with each others.

Verse wagged his tail lightly as she suggested the names for near twin pups "Rhythm and Rhyme" He repeated with a slight chuckle "Song and poem names...I like it" Turning back to the pups he studied them for a few moments more - one of them seemed to like being a bit off from the others and not so much because he wasn't social but because he seemed to want all the attention for himself. "How about Solo for that one?" He suggested "He looks like he wants to be in the spotlight" Another pup was kneading his paws in a pace that reminded him of the tempo of a song or poem "And Tempo?"

Yes, song and poem names. They seemed to be the ideal choice given the parents love of those two things. While Aleu liked songs better she did have an appreciate for poems as well, perhaps an even greater appreciation when those poems were preformed by her mate. "Solo." She repeated the name, nodded her head in agreement, it seemed perfect for the pup who had wiggled away from his siblings. Turning her attention to the pup kneading his paps at her belly Aleu laughed slightly. "Tempo fits him well."
That was four down, with only one to go. The final pups seemed much more lively than his siblings, and he had rarely stopped making noise since his birth, even when he slept he made some noise. "And for him...Capriccio." It seemed to be the perfect name for him as Capriccio represented a lively type of music.

"It's perfect" Verse agreed as he leaned down to nuzzle his mate lovingly before laying down on the other side of the pup so that they were sheltered safety between their parents "Everything is perfect now" He stated with a sigh as he watched the puppies. Later on he would have to compose a poem for them about their arrival...but that could wait just a little bit longer while he savored this moment with Aleu.

Aleu returned his nuzzle and licked his cheeks. Yes, it was perfect, though he had missed their birth Verse had come home the morning after and was able to help her name the five pups with the most ideal names possible. Now all they had to do was see them safely through the winter that was not putting its grip solidly upon the lands. The others would certainly be pleasantly surprised when they got home. But for now it was just her, Verse and their pups together as it should be. "Perfect." She echoed his words as he laid down across from her helping to keep the pups safe and warm. Laying her head down on her paws, Aleu watched as their pups fed at their belly, occasionally looking up at Verse to see him just as enthralled with them as she was. Just perfect.
