Pokemon. These strange creatures populate the world. You are an experienced trainer of some sort and have signed up with the Pokemon Exploration association to investigate a new land. Probes have shown no previously undiscovered pokemon in this land, but it is needed. Space in the regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh regions is becoming cramped, with people reluctant to expand cities in case of destroying pokemons habitats. you are enlisted in the Exploration Corps, whose job it is to map and colonise this new land.
The Corps are made up of trainers of all disciplines. All who enlist are veterans of some sort, either having collected all badges and visited the pokemon leagues of their regions, become fully licensed breeders with the pokemon Breeder association, belong to the pokemon Vetrinarian society or are fully trained Rangers. All of them contribute to missions in different and important ways, from exploration of ruins and dangerous areas, to establishing a stable population of tame pokemon, to healing and operating field poke centres, to establishing law and order on the frontier and co ordinating efforts between the branches of the corps.
This new region, Arana, is different from many of the others in that it shows extensive signs of ancient civilisations, but has been undisturbed by people for many years.

Character Creation
As previously stated, this is a journey only for experienced trainers, who have agreed to take only one team of six pokemon with them. These trainers are from a set of disciplines needed, for exploring the land and colonising.
Veteran Trainers: All experienced trainers, having obtained all badges and visited the pokemon leagues of their homes, these trainers have come in search of adventure. They make up the bulk of the corps and are capable of most tasks asked. They follow a vaguely military organisation, ranging from Privates up to Explorer Commander Red, commander in chief of the corps.
Medical Corps: The nurses and Drs of the corps are made up of those who have studied long and hard at both pokemon centres and universities take the service as an alternative to internship at hospitals. They are required to treat both pokemon and their trainers in their service, operating field centres as well as working in the mobile command units which escort the main corps groups. They are led by Dr. Joy, whom the clone Nurse Joys are based upon.
Rangers: The peacekeepers, rescue force and field leaders of the Corps, Rangers are all experienced with at least two years in the field and are capable of using all vehicles in regular use by the Corps as well as field survival methods not known to most trainers.
