I usually try to be pretty open-minded about people's personal lives coming before RPing. I know, I'm married and tend house all day; I certainly don't let Gaia take precedence over the rest of my life. However, I find myself at ends with the slipping activity in the guild. I can't properly peg the source of the inactivity; most say school work/work, but from others I get pure laziness. The latter baffles me; why join if you're too lazy to post? I considered a lost interest in the guild/RPing/the plot, but then I recall how people we're interested in it, and continually make RPCs to facilitate the guild story. So, I don't understand.

I'm getting pretty close to shutting down the arc and possibly the guild; I've yet to witness a slow-down of this nature ever in the history of the guild. I've yet to make my decision, but that's where I stand for the moment. Perhaps I expect too much; maybe I'm just more passionate about it than the rest of you and expect everyone else to be. Or perhaps I'm too lenient; maybe I need to give people a verbatim of posting when they need to or getting demotion or the boot. Maybe I'm just looking for some reassurance here; why are people not posting? Why does this place seem deader than usual?

This post started out as an outlet for how I've been feeling lately, but it evolved into a thread that I felt was necessary to advertise. Please discuss how you see fit.

I actually agree with the lack of activity; even though I am guilty of it myself. But here lately, my life has just been overwhelmed with my summer classes, work, and my dog needing a $1900 surgery I can't afford... so stress has also made me less willing to come online to think of a post. I know it's supposed to be an escape, but really when I come online is when I gather my thoughts the most... so, I think I agree with you maybe being too lenient. I think shutting down the guild should be left up to a corporate decision, just turning off the lights without getting everyone's input would be slightly rude and inconsiderate. Has anyone check to see when the last time the people that are missing was logged onto Gaia or possibly their social network?

Not sure what to say or suggest. I'm aware that my activity hasn't been amazing, but I've been around. Currently waiting on a new character development before I post.

It seems like there is only less than a handful of people that even post anymore, and I mean even in the OOC forum, member count has not been increasing at all, trying to keep up on that.

I'm not sure if maybe changes should be made, as to what they would be I couldn't say, maybe something is present in the guild that doesn't attract people, maybe bleach isn't attractive anymore, maybe some feedback from the members we have on what could be done differently that might change the activity, of course, we'd need people to actually state their opinions and not be afraid. I'll maul this over myself.

I wasn't going to do that...

That's why I was talking to Dan about starting a different kind of guild where everything I have so far system-wise is recycled. Something fantasy and magic or whatever. Although, Virgy probably won't like it... he can make a science person. >D

But, I'd rather not do that, because I'm much more knowledgeable about Bleach than anything else.

We could always make a Mech Role Play... but Virgil and I would have to be in charge because we're selfish mecha nerds. rofl

It seems to me that Bleach isn't really that popular anymore. The bleach guilds that have been established for years may be doing well, but that's because they've been around for years. I don't know what to say, I'm not getting any real hits with my advertising anywhere right now, it's a very uninterested tone when bleach is mentioned, people spark when Naruto is mentioned or a number of other things, but bleach seems to be fading out. I can say for myself that bleach has lost most of its lustre.

As long as someone is still loyal to the series and this guild, I have an impression that it won't die. Naturally, the place's movements will slow, sometimes to a complete halt, but that doesn't mean that it's dead. I think I'm being naive but I don't know really... Laziness and problems don't make the best of people, especially in massive amounts.

Probably... If this keeps up, I think I'm going to trash most stuff, then re-open it at the Hell Arc with lowered standards so that more people will join up... With any luck, what happened two years ago will happen again; everyone around me will see my skills and start adapting to them. That's how Dante, Taitei, Angel and Shinji got to where they are today, after all.

I think Kubo has just ruined Bleach for everyone... and no one wants to RP in a Role Play that's based off a boring manga series that is redundant. Naruto is more interesting, because the story is actually developed, and doesn't have characters thrown into it for the heck of it... <_<

Taigaa... that sort of sounds slightly arrogant. No offense... but Dai never adapted to your so called skills. People just naturally become better as they progress with more challenging role players. I would say it could be caused by the environment your provoked, but taking the full credit of people's role play skills just doesn't seem right in my opinion. No one takes credit for where I am at now. I used to RP, *Walks into a room*, but I don't anymore. I worked hard and educated myself, plus had college English class to help me along my way. sweatdrop

Anyways, I got off topic... I think that's worth a shot. Maybe re-opening it would make it, "new" and add more interest to people who're looking for an RP guild that's centered around Bleach.

No offense, but you don't know what you're talking about.

Taitei did, in fact, get better through my guidance, as did Shinji. This was in another RP, by the way. Likewise, there was a point in which I told Dante to just read my posts and try to mimic my writing style, and lo and behold, he spat out his first long, detailed post within a day or two. And I was the first person to start pumping out detailed posts in here, which prompted it in others. So, it is the result of my effort and I will take credit for it.

Anna was more responsible for Angel, really, but whatever.

Tis' true. Taiga and myself both RP-ed in a much worse way, with the action denotations before, but as she began to tweak how she RP-ed, I did as well. It was like a growing experience, as it should be.

But aside from that, I find that of the people who posted in this arc, only a few of us are actually attempting at propelling it forward. By that, I mean that they are actually moving about, trying to find people to help explain this, etc, etc. I think that most people who have been quite active before should be able to squeeze in, at least, a late night post. I for one can totally understand someone coming from a busy schedule. I work a lot, and to late hours, but I still squeeze in a post.

I am, however, a person that has a different way of writing. I'm quite spur of the moment and write on spot without much planning, and by simply re-reading what posts I will be responding too. Heck, if any of you plan your posts, try printing out the text and writing it by hand on your off time, at least then you'll have it already written. I'm just trying to help out with this post itself so do not, by any means, take it as me picking you out or trying to undermine you at all. We just want to RP. =D

I feel the same way about the 'Bleach' problem. Rooting an RP guild on an established franchise, such as Naruto, Lord of the Rings, etc. Will mean that once that series starts going south, the guild will as well. That's not to say that all Bleach guilds will eventually shut down, but all of them will certainly feel a flux in new members as well as activity.

The way I see it if worse comes to worse we could have it that the Hell arc ends in such a massive scale that it completely re-writes, or ends, the story, so that we can work on a new one. But that's just me being insane. xd

Anyway back to the point. I believe a sort of activity check is in need, and not just a simple 'post here if you're active' but a 'post here if you're active, and if not, kindly explain why'. I'm aware I'm not one to speak out, but managing a post at least once a week isn't that hard, at least a 100 word post would suffice, or even an OOC post to let us know that you're still there, heck just drop an emoticon or even a letter and log out.

So yeah, kinda depressed at how the arc is turning out. It took a considerable amount of time and effort to make sure things panned out, thinking of the arc concept, seeing if it works out, understanding the S-T flux, making sure there aren't any holes, etc.

We'd have to get past this arc first.
