Personality: Calm, collective, calculative, moderately socialized and yet above all...cold hearted. Zalian is believed to be one of the most stern individuals in Soul Society. He devotes his entire life to nothing else but the law and defines it as justice. But his perspective of that very concept does not involve empathy or compassion for human life nor soul reapers. Those outside his circle of acquaintances always tend to create bad rumors of him out of fear. Some say that he is so heartless that if anyone were to be assigned in a mission with him, he would not so much as hesitate to leave a man behind or kill them (if possessed or other means) in order to complete the objective efficiently without falter. Others say that he would cut down any, whether friend or foe, who defy the law of the Seireitei. However, those who ARE close to him know that he is nothing of the sort. Or at least in some aspect... As such, those within his squad and also close to him believe he is very caring yet chooses to deny it by expressing nothing but pride. Zanpakuto Size: A straight double edge sword that is longer than the average katana. It's weight is quite light due to mass density compressed via folded in layers at an extraordinary rate. Despite the Zanpakutou's structure, it is fairly as thick as any other Zanpakutou.
Zanpakuto Guard: It's guard is a shape of a simple triangle but with curved designs on it. It symbolizes Zalian's soul and his past that he keeps hidden.
Zanpakuto Sealed (Sword) Form: The structure of this Katana is uniquely different than others. And in most cases, Katanas for Soul Reapers are commonly average looking, yet slightly customized in certain areas but almost unnoticeable. However this blade, whether sealed or released in Shikai, is customized with a unique golden handle known as a "Swept Hilt". Commonly recognized as a protection for the hand for rapier type swords. The hilt is also shorter than the average Katana, yet the weight of this weapon is as light as a feather. Regardless of this fact, the mass and density is no less than the average Zanpakuto, but rather greater in it's composition. The blade itself is also shaped differently. As you can see in the picture below, the blade is completely straight, thus extending it's length than the average Katana. This also allows it's reach to be quite efficient as to also allows easier flexibility when swinging the blade.

Spirit’s Biography: Not much is known about how this sword came to be, nor how he obtained it. Even to this very day, the 13 Court Guard Squad hold no records of him obtaining his Zanpakuto. These remain a staggering mystery to all who ponder about it's origins. The only information left of his Zanpakuto are the details of how it's abilities are awakened and utilized.

Shinkai Form: The activation of this release is quite unique. It's nothing explosive nor flashy, but rather deadly and beautiful to look at in it's own dark way. Upon the command "Bleed your path, Ganzorai!" (an alias name to prevent his Bankai from awakening) a series of curved blades form all around Zalian from under him, no matter what the surface may be made of (except for air of course). Even if he were to stand on water. These blades cover him to the point where he's completely caved into a sphere of them. After engulfed by these blades, they begin to bleed red blood from the top down. Once the sphere like blades turn completely red, they slowly blossom out like a flower via rose.
Shikai Size: There are no changes to the blade. However it does glow bright red during the end of the transformation but very briefly. This only happens after Zalian's blood comes in contact with anything physical, whether it be the ground or water. Therefore allowing that physical object, and it's entire structure (in other words the whole surface for example) to glow red the same time the sword does.
Shikai Release Phrase: Bleed your path, Ganzorai!
Shikai Ability: Converts and manipulates physical structures.
Shikai Attack One: The connection between Zalian's blood and his Zanpakuto is most uncommon than others but efficient and clever in battle nonetheless. Anything his blood comes in contact with his Zanpakuto is able to recreate and convert it's material into anything he so chooses. In other words, whatever the object and/or surface may be, cloth, wood, water, metal, concrete, etc, his Zanpakuto recreates and converts to the material he desires. Density, composition, mass, size, and shape. As long as his blood has come into physical contact with the object, the Zanpakuto has full control to recreate it. However, Zanpakutos are an entirely different story. With the fact that Zanpakutos are part of an individual's soul, utilizing spiritual pressure, it negates Ganzorai's effect. The same applies to a Shinigami, as well as the clothes he/she wears. So long as a Shinigami's presence (or any spiritual presence of that matter) exists within whatever he/she is wearing, Ganzorai has no control over it. In most cases, within any battle situation, Zalian usually manipulates his enemy's surrounding (mostly the ground or any objects that surround him/her), thus turning them into curved sharp structures that closely resemble blades of a scythe. With but a single swing, he can create at least a dozen of these blades. This serves as a deadly technique, in which case makes it difficult for the enemy to predict where exactly these blades will come out from. During this process, Zalian does not simply just swing his sword to conduct these blades (though granted, if he wanted to he could). But rather he performs a unique and rare sword dance. One that causes the blades to reform their shapes in a most elegant and beautifully artistic manner, yet still just as deadly.
Shikai Attack Two: (Please be aware that this technique uses his blood to branch out of it's normal physical structure manipulation and instead manipulates the blood by itself) With but a raise of Zalian's hand, a clear rectangular shaped glass will slowly rise from the ground and in front of him. At first it may appear as if it is nothing more than that. But as Zalian continues to hold his hand out to it, a red blood like image of himself slowly begins to appear within the glass. Once the dark distorted blood like image fully appears, Zalian utters these words "Reflect & Corrupt". This in turn causes the glass to shatter, leaving only the dark blooded creature of himself standing before him. It's figure is liquid like and it's vocals are very distorted as if he were to speak underwater. Though this creature does not say a word, it does however give out cynical laughters. He calls this form..."Daruu Izarugai" (Mirror's Ego)
This creature via dark blood like clone of Zalian is NOT to be taken lightly. This entity acts on it's own accord yet serves it's master to eliminate his target by any means necessary and in most cases does so in the most brutal and deadliest way possible. It's maneuvering capabilities compare to that of Shunpo. However, it cannot perform any speed techniques that involve second images, muscular speed enhancements, or kido speed like techniques. It especially cannot perform any kido of the sort. It's ability however is very dangerous. And much similar to the first technique, it has the ability to convert any part of it's body into whatever material it desires, making blade like attacks even deadlier than before. If in close range combat (or in this case clashed with another sword), it can curve and reshape the weapon it is forming, making it even that much more dangerous to stay linked to the creature for very long.
But it's most deadliest technique resides in long range attack. With but a swing of it's arms, legs, or any other part of it's body, it begins to rain down blood, hundreds of drops that instantly convert into blades. This can be repeated as many times as the creature wills it. It's method of attacks and maneuvers are quite ruthless as they are relentless. Almost similar to a wild beast with not a shred of mercy. However, despite the fact that it is a liquid type creature, it does not mean it can't be hit by Zanpakutos or kido attacks. Mainly around the torso or head, it can be damaged. Everything else that is sliced off or cut can reconnect or regenerate. As long as the attack has spiritual force into it, then the creature's vulnerable areas are exposed by solidifying it's torso and head. However even destroying it comes with a dangerous risk as it triggers a final attempt to destroy it's target if it were to fail in battle. A means of activating a trap if you will. After destroying the creature, it disperses into thousands of drops, thus almost appearing as though the enemy has won against the creature. But with a second glance, the dispersed thousands of blood drops suspend in the air, surrounding the enemy in a sphere of them. And just with a clench of Zalian's hand, he utters the words of his final execution trap technique which is called... "Splatter Clash". This in turn triggers all the thousands of drops to convert into blades and cave the enemy in one whole clash. In other words, the blades all clash into each other, shrinking the sphere as small as can possibly be. When this technique is executed and destroyed, it does come with a risk of not being able to use it for a long period of time. Approximately 10-15 minutes to be exact.
Shikai Attack Three: If done properly and set up perfectly, he is able to trap his opponent in a large accurately aligned circle, surrounding his opponent with 10 sharp scythe-like blade structures sticking out of the ground in a perfect circle. Whether the opponent is fast or not, powerful or weak, once this circle surrounds his enemy, there is no escape from it. All 10 blades are spiritually connected, thus allowing Zalian to begin his special technique, called "Ishiosen Kyozei" (Blades of Submission). When this comes to effect, the blades begin to spin around the opponent in a circular motion, creating a massive pressure of riatsu that is capable of paralyzing his opponent and his/her riatsu. When this happens, Zalian begins to gracefully swing his sword in a certain type of sword dance. By doing so, he begins to perform 20 air slashes, which then causes the riatsu, that is containing his opponent, to shape into thin sharp-like blades that instantly inflict great damage upon his opponent. This move is so powerful it completely immobilizes or causes the opponent to be incapable of fighting for a long period of time, due to the inflictions of damage caused to the opponent. To some, who may be weaker, it can be quite deadly. When this technique is executed, it does come with a risk of not being able to use it again for a long period of time. Approximately 10 minutes to be exact.

Items: The only significant item that has any relevant purpose is his mask. Much like many other mysterious and vague backgrounds of both his past and his Zanpakutou, the similarity is that not much is known about this mask. The only thing held in record was that Zalian placed a seal upon this mask himself. As a result, it's purpose is to prevent anyone from removing it, no matter how strong they are. Nobody knows why but the shape of this mask is built to cover almost his entire face but his left eye. The density of this mask was constructed to withstand powerful blows, making it almost unbreakable.
This does not, however, mean that Zalian cannot receive any damages to the face. Whatever damages are inflicted to the mask, his face will receive at least half that amount. Aside from the item's general makeup, the right side of this mask has also been remodeled and enhanced by Squad 12 upon the request of Zalian himself. To be more specific, the right side of this mask has been designed to allow Zalian's right eye to see through the cover and even enhance his peripheral vision. In other words, the right side of his mask might as well be considered to be one large eye that can see better than his left.

Biography

The only records of Zalian's origins is that he is the last remaining bloodline of an old royal family, known as the Yavon Clan. A once old and rarest of many royal families. Especially one that was closest to Yamamoto's. Other than that, everything else remains a mystery about Zalian's personal history and of his clan's back round. And if anyone ever tried to search, it would be almost impossible to find. Some believe that all his records have been either lost, hidden, or destroyed to prevent any investigations. However, there are few, within the corpse squad, that know of his history, yet still very little nonetheless. To this day, any who dare break into the corpse squad in search of these records are immediately deemed as an enemy and would be cut down without a single whim.
