Biography: Athena was born in a moderately sized city that was a major trading hub between the south and central regions. Her family consisted of a father and mother who were recently settled merchants who had enjoyed some good fortune and aquired an old inn to open up as a shop and a younger brother. One day, however, her mother's skill as a merchant suddenly started to drop inexplicably. She passed it off as nervousness at recent murders and illness, but also unusually Athena's younger brother- who was a toddler at this point, didn't like being near their mother anymore. The murders increased to an alarming level and with no clues as to the culprit the townsfolk sent off for a Claymore. When Athena arrived home one day, however, she came upon the greusome scene of her mother devouring her father and her younger brother unconscious in the creature's grasp. With her face slowly contorting to reveal herself as a yoma, Athena could only stand still in terror as the creature's claws wrapped around her. However, in an instant there was a gust of wind and the grip on her laxed while the yoma dropped to one side and its head to the other. Athena glanced down to her brother and got him out from the yoma's arm and looked up only to see that the silver-eyed witch was gone with another gust of wind. There had been three yoma in the city and the warrior dealt with all of them in the span of a few minutes, before leaving as swift as she came. As with many children whose parents had been devoured by or taken over by yoma Athena and her brother were rejected by the townsfolk and kicked out for fear of one of them being a yoma. Fortunate or not, the siblings met with a group of Claymores being given orders by a man of the Organization. The one who had saved Athena and her brother was also there and she thanked her for rescuing them. Only recognizing them with a nod and brief smile the group set out on their mission, leaving the children behind with the man who took them in to become warriors.
