Glorianna was slightly disappointed in Calder's lack of reaction. Had he truly never seen a book before? "Hold on." She walked forward and ran her hand along the spines of the books, looking at the various titles written on the bindings. "Ah!" She pulled out a thick book in dark leather binding. It looked fairly new. "Here. Take a closer look." She held the book out to Calder, cover up. On the cover was an etching of vines and tiny flowers. It was a story about a young cattaur learning about his flourishing magic. "I've read this a couple times... Think you might like it."

Calder tilted his head as Glorianna walked over to the 'stuff' and began to look at them. He became even more confused when she grabbed one and brought it over to him. Read it? What was there to read in here? He took the leather bound object and looked at the cover. The 'picture' was nice but he didn't really get what he was supposed to do with the object.
So he turned it around studying it from all sides. It was while he was doing that, that he noticed that there was something in the middle of the object. Something that didn't go out as far as the leather cover or was as thick. So he slowly opened up the cover, right in the middle of the book, and froze. Words.... so many words written on this.. this... object's pages. He stared at it for several minutes before looking up at her with wide eyes.
So this was a book. An object bound by leather that contained many many words. An object that was instantly near and dear to his heart as written words were his only means of communication with others as he had no voice. An object that he instantly saw great potential for himself for surely he could get some of whatever the words were written on and use that instead of a stick and the dirt.

Cocking her head, Glorianna patiently watched Calder react to the book. A smile slowly rose as he flipped through the pages, giggling as he looked at her in shock. "This store is filled with these. They're books. You can rent them out for a short time, or simply buy them with coin." She swung her arm out wide. "There's history, tales, books that teach, human stories.. All kinds of books to read."

Calder looked back at the book as she explained. He gently put the book back from where she grabbed it and then looked at her. He nodded at what she said. So he could rent or buy them but it would take coin to do so. Seeing how he was lacking in that he needed to make some. He grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the store. He would have her teach him on how to make coin so he could buy books, lots and lots of books.
