hey guys how can i make a color shine..and not look so dull like an old webpage? like a square kinda thing idk...anyone get what im tring to say?

ya ok.. so i want a color lets say black but instead of it showing a dull kinda color i want it like shiny kinda 3d ish.... do u know what i mean?
