Well, I was bored, so I decided to make a new thread. Anyways, post your favourite songwriter, poet, or/and author. It doesn't matter whether or not they're well known or anything, just as long as their work is published.

Mine goes as follows:
Songwriter: Conor Oberst (Bet you didn't see that one coming xp)
Author: This one changes regularly. Currently, it is probably Mary Roach and VC Andrews.
Poet: Also perpetually changing! Argh! Too many to name.
It's bugging me now... Bruce Milne has a few awesome poems. One that's just hilarious. Only because it surprises you, it seems really dark and then it has a comical twist at the end that you just don't expect.

Song writer: Brian Molko (Placebo) and Kele Okereke (Bloc Party).
Author: Catherine Webbe, J.R.R. Tolkien and at the moment for some strange reason Alexandre Dumas.
Poet: I don't read much poetry but I guess Edgar Allen Poe because I love The Raven.

Manga Authors too?
Well in that case I'd have to say Rumiko Takahashi. Because she's the very very best. And I'm not just some little InuYasha fangirl, I really love all her stuff.
I also like Yoshihiro Togashi (YYH) and CLAMP. heart Clamp is indeed wonderful...
And Kohta Hirano also, though I've only read Hellsing. (I'm not really into his other type of work)

Umm... Because I've been going through a lot lately and haven't been able to read for awhile, I'd have to think....

Umm... The author of the book Speak. It was the only book that I fully enjoyed that was assigned in school

And I like Rudyard Kipling's "If"
