Do you think about violence in video games alot?
I do. I recently gave up games with violent content (Doom games, firstperson shooters, GTA games) in exchange for action, and cultivation games xD (Pirates! is the most violent game I play D: Also, I love my harvest moon games biggrin ) Video games can teach kids alot in childhood. Including hate. What do you think about violence in video games?

I'll play violent video games if I like the game because I know the difference between video game violence and violence in real life. It's the same with violent movies and such; I can enjoy them for their entertainment value and know that just because the movie or game is portraying violence against people/creatures does not mean I am displaying the same. I would not gain enjoyment if those things happen in real life.
The problem with the children and teenagers and people that display violence after watching the movies or playing the games isn't the movies or games themselves but their inability to make that distinction. It's like the "violent music causes violence" -- it's not that the music is causational, but the music is being used as an outlet for the aggression displayed.
It's all about personal choices and responsibility.
More power to you if giving up violent games is what you want to do. (:

I've actually lost interest in violent games. Well, not games with as little as violence as, say, ZELDA, but yeah.
Mostly I play games like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, Mario games. The DS has an AWESOME selection of non-violent games.

As for what I think about what it does to people... well, I've no opinion.

I actually JUST read a really interesting article on gamespot about all of this! In there they tell about how they did a study on monkeys that showed that the part of the monkey's brains that is stimulated by holding a penut is also stimulated when they are watching another moneky hold a penut. It was betterly detailed and went much more in-depth.

It was really interesting and I can't find it again to give you all a link. Poo.

xD
Awman, I would have liked to read that. (:

One of the things I have to point out on brain stimulation, though, is that humans are capable of higher forms of thinking.
Or it could be the food-related stimulation. "I have food; he has food", ect.
There's lots of variables and I'd like to read the study, should you find it. (:
