Private Roleplay! Please don't post here unless you've been given permission! For permission please PM Queen Kiriux or Yeomso! In Use: Lila In Search Of: Cloud Lila stared at the cake on the table with a mixture of longing and confusion. It was perfect, picture perfect. And it looked delicious. But it wasn't for her. At least, she was pretty sure it wasn't for her. Who is it for? She skirted the table, flicking her tail back and forth in agitation. She was sure to be in trouble if she messed with it. If she did what she wanted to do, play in it, she was sure to be in even more trouble... Well, she reasoned, only if someone caught her. If someone else happened to come by and see the cake destroyed, no one would assume it was her. She'd be sure to clean the icing off of her fur and ribbons before anyone could suspect her. Lila perked her ears up as she set her front paws onto the table, then leaped onto its surface. No one appeared to be nearby. The cake had a strange detailing of a maze on it, one she couldn't fully see from her vantage point on the ground. She took a step closer, stuck her nose at the beginning of the puzzle. Now this was interesting! A maze in a cake! Perhaps it had treasure inside! Or the maze was a map to a treasure? Lila licked the icing from her nose as she debated what to do next.

Resting above in his perch, Cloud stared down at the female lion with a mild curiosity. "Are you enjoying yourself?" Cloud asked, breaking the silence that loomed over them with his gentle husky voice. Their surroundings were a rather curious thing; an abandoned and overgrown garden that seemed oddly... clean.
"I do hope that cake belongs to you. Otherwise the owner might be upset that there's a piece of icing missing." His striped tail swished behind him as he gazed down at the purple lioness from the stone wall that surrounded the garden. His voice and expression were warm, as if he was letting the lioness get away with something like one would with a naive child. "Is there something I can help you with Ma'am?"

"Are you enjoying yourself?" The voice jolted her out of her curious stance, and she whipped around to face the newcomer.
"I guess so," she wasn't really sure if she was having fun yet or not. Maybe, if the cake did prove to be a clue in a grand scheme, it would be fun. "I found a cake!"
"I do hope that cake belongs to you. Otherwise the owner might be upset that there's a piece of icing missing."
"It... it's not mine," Lila stammered, obviously startled by the other lion. She was sure he hadn't been there a minute ago. He had caught her red handed... Or, well, icing nosed. She took a cautious step away from the cake, and tilted her head in curiosity. "I just sort of found it here."
She thought of making up excuses, telling this intruder, or possible friend, that the cake was indeed hers. She knew that it wasn't hers, but since she couldn't see anyone's name on it, it was fair game. At least, she thought that was how it worked...
"Is there something I can help you with Ma'am?"
"There's a maze here," she blurted out excitedly. She thought about pawing the cake towards him, but as he had already pointed out, she had already messed up the icing. And if she happened to miss a step she might tip the whole cake over, and her maze would be lost in a splattered pile of cake and icing and... dirt. "Come look, come see! I think it's a treasure hunt!"

Cloud smiled as the lioness responded. Something about her was rather amusing. He was tempted to toy with her, but decided against it. Wouldn't want to make a bad impression so soon.
"Well as long as we don't damage the cake... anymore anyways, I suppose I could help." Cloud responded, jumping off of his perch onto the soft grassy ground below. Walking over to the cake he did in fact see that there was a maze. "How peculiar. I wonder where it leads..."
His brows furrowed as his eyes followed the twists and turns of the cake-maze. "Now where exactly do you think this will lead, m'dear?"

"Well as long as we don't damage the cake... anymore anyways, I suppose I could help." The other lion came closer, Lila was stuck trying to find something to say. It wasn't like she'd meant to damage the cake. Her curiosity and eagerness had just gotten the better of her. "How peculiar. I wonder where it leads..."
Lila found herself grinning. So he was curious too! It was bizarre to find such an odd cake in a place like this, abandoned with no one looking after it. She was beginning to wonder if this was a game, or perhaps something more sinister. Was it a trap?
Waiting in silence as the other Carou examined the cake, Lila was getting antsy. ""Now where exactly do you think this will lead, m'dear?"
"Treasure!" She blurted out before she could stop herself. She was sure she was making a fool of herself, but she couldn't help it. "It's obviously treasure, right? Why else would a cake have a maze on it? Unless it's a trick. Somebody would have to be really mean to send us off on a wild goose chase like that, though, and so I think it has to be treasure, obviously." Lila took a deep breath, out of air from her quick babbling rant.
"Waiiiit a minute," she eyed him suspiciously for a moment. "How do I know this isn't YOUR cake? And you planted it here just so I would wonder!"

Cloud stifled a laugh at Lila's enthusiasm. "Yes, I suppose it can be treasure. Though it's quite odd one would put a map on a cake." While Cloud was neither mocking or teasing the purple Lion, he still had a humorous tone to his voice as he spoke revealing his amusement at the situation.
"Now, how would I, a Lion Carousel, acquire such a cake?" He gave her his knowing-yet-not-telling smile. "It seems like something a human would have to do. Haha; we don't even have opposable thumbs m'dear."

"Yes, I suppose it can be treasure. Though it's quite odd one would put a map on a cake." He had a funny tone in his voice, and Lila wasn't quite sure if he was mocking her or sharing her amused enthusiasm. Probably mocking me.
"But that's why it's BRILLIANT," Lila countered, still eying the other lion suspiciously. "You'd never SUSPECT a cake leading to treasure other than well... The cake itself. So it's obviously a brilliant, genius plan. Or a trick. A very very mean trick." She edged closer to the cake again, making sure not to stick her nose into the icing this time.
"Now, how would I, a Lion Carousel, acquire such a cake?" He gave her a smile that set her teeth on edge. "It seems like something a human would have to do. Haha; we don't even have opposable thumbs m'dear."
"I'm Lila, not your dear," the tiny lioness shot back nastily. She wasn't usually so rude, but something about this scenario was making her upset. She wanted to play games, he was being all logical. "I don't KNOW any humans," Lila countered stubbornly. "Do you?"

He was taken back by her sudden anger, though thinking back Cloud had probably caused it all. "True true, I suppose it could be rather brilliant." He kept his tongue still in order to prevent upsetting Lila again. It was a bad habit of his, pointing out discrepancies in arguments of others.
"I see. I shall refrain from calling you that again, Lila." He replied back to her verbal attack. Old habits die hard.
"I did." he replied stoutly, not willing to explain. Time to change the subject. "Now, why don't we find out what's at the end of this maze?"

"I see. I shall refrain from calling you that again, Lila."
Lila felt herself blush with embarrassment at her unwarranted outburst. She wasn't usually like this at all! She was being incredibly rude to a virtual newcomer, though she noticed that he hadn't offered his name in return. Oh well. Maybe his momma hadn't taught him any manners.
"I did," the lion started, then changed the subject. Lila was OH SO curious about the Carou's interaction with the strange two-legged furless beings, but he seemed to be interested in the cake. Well, it was an interesting cake. "Now why don't we found out what's at the end of this maze?"
"Ok!" Lila's ears perked up as she studied it, but her attention span wasn't very good, and she found herself studying the trees in the distance. They were in a park, right? Maybe there would be some clue on the cake that related to their location.

Picking up where he left off, Cloud looked for the end of the maze, circling the cake as he explored all of the options, looking for the one that would lead them to the end.
"Almost..." Cloud muttered to himself, as he circled the cake once more. The maze seemed to end at... a decorative strawberry. "Huh. I suppose that's the prize then."
He looked over to Lila and saw her looking off in the opposite direction. His lips twitched as he suppressed a smile. "I found it," he called out, "It's the strawberry. Or maybe what's under it."

"I found it," he called out, "It's the strawberry. Or maybe what's under it." Lila's gaze jerked back to him, and she grinned widely. Her excitement came back tenfold and she began to bounce around happily.
"You found it? You're brilliant! A genius! A brilliant genius!" Lila studied the cake for herself, examining the strawberry. "Is it... under the real strawberry? Or should we look for some real strawberry patch in the park?" Lila's tail swished back and forth at an alarming rate.
The excited Carou lept off the table with a lack of grace entirely, and began circling the table, looking and thinking.

"Why thank you." Cloud said cheerfully as he watched Lila search for the treasure. "Considering this is a garden, there's bound to be a strawberry patch nearby. Maybe over there?" He pointed towards a patch of vines where he saw blobs of red peaking out.
He was rather content on watching the girl enjoy herself from where he sat. It was rather entertaining, like a parent watching a cub explore.
