Lance's first pokemon and best friend, raised from a dragon met in Dragon's Den.
Falkor spends most of his time outside of his pokeball, often pursuing his own agenda.
Very tolerant and good-natured.

More tempermental than Falkor, but equally as reliable.
Where Falkor would knock someone into a lake as a joke, Fafnir would do it out of spite.
However, he would never hurt without good cause.
Takes his job as a team member very seriously.
Caught as a Bagon on a visit to Meteor Falls after the events of FireRed/LeafGreen.

Caught as a Gible while visiting Cynthia in Sinnoh.
Considers himself very elegant and will deny any insinuations that he was exceptionally gawky and clumsy in his earlier evolutions.
He is closest to Fafnir, and the two spend much time acting serious together.
Enjoys sci-fi movies.

Piasa was given to Lance as an egg from Drayden upon their first meeting, having been bred from Drayden's own Haxorus.
In spite of this long care process--or perhaps because of it--Piasa tends to tag-team with Falkor to mother Lance.
(This generally involves trying to convince the dragon trainer to eat something other than canned beans while camping.)

Orochi will eat you. No, really.
Lance encountered the oversized Hydreigon when he was called in to deal with a serious disturbance north of Olivine, where the dragon was rampaging and devouring Miltank.
After no small amount of trouble, Lance and his team managed to subdue and capture Orochi, but it was quite some time before he was able to come to any sort of understanding with the violent pokemon.
Lance still avoids using the Hydreigon when bystanders are present.
It is generally believed that Orochi belonged to another trainer prior to being found in Johto. Who that trainer was, how he was treated, and the circumstances of his release are unknown.

Nimue originally belongs to Clair, who raised her from a Horsea.
On Clair's insistance--because, in her words, only an idiot would tromp around on a boat with out a water-type--he took her when he left Blackthorne.
Although Lance trusts Nimue, he's not as comfortable with her as he is with his own pokemon and often misinterprets her.
In part because of this, she tends to act far more independently than the rest of the team and is a bit of a loner.
She replaces Lance's Altaria, Trafalgar True (aka Truffle) who stayed with Clair in Blackthorne to help protect Dragon's Den.

▉▉▉▉▉▉▉▉▉▉▉▉ ☆ ★ ☆ RANDOM FACTS!★ THE CAPE ACTUALLY HAS A PURPOSE:
besides being dramatic and swanky.
Lance uses the cape as a training tool for dragons.
Covering the head of a rampaging dragon with the cape (generally) has a similar effect to putting a frantic bird an a dark box and helps calm them down.
The red lining of the cape draws attention, and flaring the cape reveals it and draws attention to or back to the trainer.
It can also be used to redirect aggression in the way of a matador's cape.
A sturdy, well-made cape is also good protection not only from the elements, but can help repel attacks such as DragonBreath.
Most of Lance's capes also include a layer of Haban-fiber fabric.
(Lance actually goes through quite a number of capes, which is why the shopkeeper in Celadon sees him buy new ones so often.)
☆ LANCE CARRIES SOCK PUPPETS:
which he uses in training Orochi.
They started out as regular socks, but have become slowly more elaborate, and now have little eyes and neck frills like the Hydreigon.
But they're still made out of socks.
★ UNBEKNOWNST TO MOST:
Lance has a large dragon tattoo on his back, much like the one depicted here.
He does not like to show it off, as most would call it "an impulsive decision of from his youth," but he secretly still likes it quite a bit.
☆ WHEN NOT TRAINING:
Lance has been known to enjoy sci-fi movies and Wii Sports tournaments with the rest of the Kanto/Johto Elite 4.
Karen is the long-time reigning champion of Wii Sports.
