my garlic. 2nd attempt this year. for some reason the cloves end up disapearing instead of growing into bulbs. not sure why.

My desert Rose, my favorite flower. not sure what that flowering vine is, it grows from under the house and is really pretty.

Awww! Those pictures make me wish my parents were planting a garden this year. Last year we didn't have much luck and the weeds were ridiculous so I guess they want to take a break. I can't wait til we start gardening again.

Mama, you're in Florida? Wherever you are, I think your vine may be bouganvilla (spelling?). I've never seen one here outside a greenhouse, and the ones I've seen are usually a pink or red, but the "flowers" which may really be bracts seem to be right. Whatever it is, it's beautiful! OH! Does it have thorns? Bouganvilla does, on older vines.

yeah, i'm in central florida (tampa). the pictures on wiki about the bougainvillaea don't look exactly right, but they do look close enough that that is probably what it is. the ones in my yard are white and pink.

so, the tomato never ripened. it just sat there green forever. it finally got too heavy and fell off the vine today while i was out there building my new garden fence and gate, so i picked it up, took it inside, and am frying it with a whole grain breading and a little bacon grease. we'll see how good this monster tastes as a fried green tomato. will update this post after we've eaten it.
-edit-

OMG it was nomtastic!

So, my potato plants grew and wilted back, so this morning I went out to harvest them. I dug. and dug. and dug. wide and deep. Not a single potato in the ground. Since I'm still a newbie and learning I am perplexed. what would cause this to happen? thank you in advance for your time.

So, the spring's container garden ended up not working so well, the only thing that thrived was the spinach. we're going to raised rows for the winter:
