Since this has happened so many times throughout history (with increasing frequency, it seems in the last 5 decades), I feel terrible for people who may have quit their jobs, sold their homes, gave away their worldly goods, etc. I wonder why our media has decided to highlight this story so widely. It seems irresponsible to me. Let the man say what he will, but don't spread that word across the world.
Historically, it has been proven, the end of the world does not come.

I totally agree with you. I don't understand why they would highlight such a thing now. I was also wondering why the media decided to cause mass hysteria, well maybe not hysteria lol but a lot of paranoia. and then they brought zombies into the mix, it seems like they just wanted to promote a movie or something *shrugs* I admit the thought scares me if it's possible, but most of me knows it's not. *shakes head* why do people have to be so crazy and scare other people into believing these things? what a world we live in >.<

Waitingforwingstoflyaway6 Please don't worry. It isn't possible, at least not in this context. Many, many Christian organizations and reverends/priests are saying it's nonsense. I'm serious - the only people who are affected by these types of hyped rumours are the victims of gullibility. Remember Heaven's Gate? I felt so badly for those people. sad It's so horrible to try to convince people the end is imminent. Even bible scholars tell us, it's not for us to know our end, only God knows.

Even bible scholars tell us, it's not for us to know our end, only God knows. again i agree with you, and I know it's not possible, me and a friend were discussing how it isn't lol *shrugs* it's just a frightning thought to put it to someones head is all. her poor sister was freaked out, she called her worried sad I feel bad, but I kinda of laugh at it because I knew nothing was going to happen, just little thoughts of, hmm well what if lol but something like this does make you stop to think, did i live my life fully, what would i have done differently, kinda puts things in perspective lol

Yeah, hearing about how some people sold their homes and all of their belongings just made me sad. I hate to see people taken advantage of, even if they are gullible. That's the main reason why I don't really like the media these days. They like to whip the public up into this mass hysteria and then most people just seem to sort of overlook it when nothing happens and move on to the next topic of hysteria. It just makes me afraid of when there actually is a serious problem, how most people aren't going to take it seriously seeing as how the media has hyped up past events and we're all so desensitized to it all now. We're all just expecting to get scammed again.

ain't that the truth? and now that guy went and did it again saying he was 5 months of and it's supposed to October now...really?! I think it's time for him to be put in a comfy retirement home...
