After a series of unfortunate events that drove them out of San Francisco, the X-Men have found themselves for the time being marooned in Australia. Times are tough, and with lives of the innocent lost…Guilt, anger, and blame rampages through the masses. They came by way of ship, fleeing from a country that fears and hates them…Is no where in the world safe? Some of the ranks have been exposed to the public eye and for the time being, must be unseen until their names and faces fade from the media. In a world so fast paced, always looking for a new target, the next tragedy—It won’t be long before some form of anonymity takes hold.
Sydney, Australia is the site of their temporary compound… At least, it’s supposed to be temporary. Other countries are raising arms, producing laws, and setting up acts to limit mutants… To rate them as secondary citizens…To make it so that they are considered little more than animals. Mutants are being poached like animals, bounties offered on their heads… Mutants with visible mutations are wanted alive for side shows on the darker markets. Human trafficking is at an all time high…
Australia seems to be one of the few places left where mutants are regarded with mindful disdain, and not open—Outright hostility. They escaped a sentinel attack in the San Francisco area, and removed the immediate threat of mutant hunting machines. They were outlawed world wide for a reason…And it is one thing, that the leaders of the free world have unanimously decided is a terrible idea. Sentinels are unfeeling, robots that do more damage than good.
Homeless…They are out of harm's way in one of the many Warren Worthington sponsored compounds around the world. The teams need to be reformed, newer members need to be trained in teamwork, and others need to decide soon—What side of this war they are on… Eventually it won’t just be a few idealistic humans…Eventually, as the mutant population grows… It will become an ‘Us’ and ‘Them’ mentality…Human, or mutant. Families will be torn apart…Society will start to fray at the seams.
The outcast X-Men are in dire need of reform…Of a feeling of unity. Their whole way of life has been shattered… Their beliefs, values…All devastated.
In Australia, they will rebuild. Both their lives, and one another. They will find a way to fight for what they believe in…For equality. To protect those that cannot protect themselves… To stop other mutants from making mistakes, and bad decisions that could result in full on human retaliation and warfare… They fight to survive… To be treated as sentient beings… They will prove that they are not animals for a hunt.
