If anyone wants to add to it that's fine.

ABECEDARIUM - A poem arranged according to the alphabet, so that the first line begins with the letter A. It is really an acrostic that proceeds according to the alphabetical order instead of spelling out a name or a message.
ACROSTIC -Poem in which the initial letters of the lines, read downward, spell out a name or message. Other possibilities exist for hiding the acrostic, such as moving the letter one space over in each succeeding line. Acrostics are usually used for light verse, riddles or puzzles, and occasional verse.
Light Verse - Humorous verse, usually rhymed; verse in the service of amusement; rhymed lines whose subject matter and attitudes are light as opposed to weighty, dark and serious.
Riddles - A poem that playfully or mysteriously hides its subject, describing it but not naming it, presenting a puzzle to be solved by the reader.
Occasional Verse - Poem written to commemorate an occasion; a poem commissioned by someone to celebrate some happening, like the Olympian odes of Pindar or the coronation ode by a poet laureate.
