Haunter may hover up to one inch off the floor when he wishes to. If Haunter comes across a pit or hole, he may move over it without problem if it is a small one. If it is a larger gap, he can begin to glide across it, but will eventually drift downwards after a few seconds.
When concealed in shadows, Haunter can cause his entire body to darken, as if covered in a dark shroud. This trait does not cause him to become invisible, he is merely harder to see. Sort of like looking into a dark room and trying to see someone dressed completely in black ninja garb. While in this state, if Haunter does not move, he really is incredibly hard to pick out of the darkness. Movement causes the shadows to look a little odd. The presence of any light shining in his general area will reveal him as a dark ink blot against the background with a wide grin.
Haunter can not survive off solid food. He needs to eat the life energies that all living creatures have. This is due to the fact that Haunter himself does not generate his own energies. Haunters hunger grows stronger the more often he uses his own powers.
Haunter, as a Ghost Pokemon, can't resist attempting to creep people out or provoke them. It's in his very nature to stir up or frighten others, even ones he calls friends
Haunter does not need to eat solid food. Because of this he doesn't face the same problem as others when it comes to finding edible food.
Being a Ghost, Haunter doesn't suffer the same discomfort as other people do when it comes to heat and cold. Extremes do still effect him, but the moderate shifts do not.
Ethereal State: Haunter can drift through solid walls and objects at will. However this ability does not allow him to escape the outer walls of the Asylum nor can he pass through into any rooms that are warded against such. When Haunter is ethereal, there is no difference in his appearance
Paralyzing Lick: Haunter can temporarily paralyze someone by licking them. His tongue secrets a thin clear goo that seeps in through skin and numbs the muscles of the body for a short period of time. While paralyzed, Haunter can drain some of the life energies of his victim. This is how he feeds himself, he can not drain enough of the life energies of a person to really effect them, at the most it makes them feel cold. If he were to feed off them for a extended period of time (Like hours upon hours) then they may suffer some greater effects like lethargy. This is not a deadly ability, just annoying.
