The territory that the Leawyn inhabit is vast, the forest itself incredibly large.
The forest is generally fair-weathered, with a full set of seasons, though the summers are mild and the winters a little harsh.
The mountains to the north seem to perpetually be in a winter season, as their elevation is very high compared to most of the forest. It gets warmer the more south and east one goes, as they venture into the thicker forest area.
Leawyn only naturally inhabit the center of the forest, where there are rivers, streams, glades, and clearings. The trees are not dense, and there is decent room to move around. It is too cold to the north, and there are too many trees and hilly terrain to the east for a Leawyn to live comfortably. Only few Leawyn have made it to the cliff's edge to see the ocean, as the cliff itself is rather unstable and pieces of it collapse into the sea from time to time.
The forest houses many other creatures (though non-sentient) that you would find in your everyday forest; squirrels, raccoons, owls, etc. There may even be more dangerous animals, such as wolves or bears, though the latter usually keeps to itself unless provoked. The leawyn can generally fend for themselves, being very agile to make up for a lack of strength. They dont have a very strong set of claws, but rely more on their speed, and if need be, their teeth to defend themselves. Most Leawyn do not pick fights, especially with the predators of the forest, preferring to avoid bloodshed when possible.
Leawyn eat mainly small mammals or birds, including eggs. They won't pass up a good fruit or mouthful of berries or nuts when the opportunity arises, but they lean more towards carnivore than herbivore. They are not deer (no matter how much they look like deer xD ) and do not graze on grass and leaves.
Leawyn build dens to live in, whether in the hollow of a tree, under an overhanging rock, or in a small cave, sometimes in the cover of tall bushes. They generally lay down a layer of dead leaves or grass, fallen feathers, lost fur, or pieces of moss to make a comfortable place to sleep. They may line the edges of their den with rocks or some other markers to let others know a Leawyn lives there.
Most Leawyn have no set boundaries to their territories, the areas overlapping with gray areas in between. That's not to say two males won't fight over terrain, but the Leawyn as a whole are a more pacifistic breed, and do not like to fight without reason. However, some Leawyn have been known to be strangely violent. The cause of their bloodlust has not been found, and some of the Leawyn thinkers are guessing it is merely fluke.
