Chogan ran about in a lush, green field chasing several butterflies. The grass tickled his elbows and underside as he hopped about. He wondered what it was like to be so small. He froze, trying to focus on the bridge of his nose as a single butterfly had come to rest upon it. He looked at the purple wings, slowly turning yellow the further they went down.

It wasn't long before his energy burst through, like a rhino on a chase as he could no longer stay put. He kicked out his back legs, watching as the butterfly took off into the sky, toward the sun. He sighed, turning around and heading back to where his family was. He was never out of eyesight of his mother, but he did like to explore his territory, granted, he was a bit too scared to really wander off from his mother.

He had told her, he was going to forever and always be her protector, and that was a promise he would keep.

User ImageIt was nice out, a beautiful day for traveling. Zheadeos had left the forest to visit his family about a week ago. The long travel had proven less then fruitful he'd come across his sister while she had baskets it was a surprise to him that she had baskets, then he'd gone off to see if her could find his parents and brother he hadn't been successful so he'd decided to com back and visit his sister, and to see if his sister's baskets had come to term with the world.

He was at the meadow not far from where his sister was keeping her family, he was sure she hadn't moved them since they were likely still young and he figured if they weren't out of their baskets that they would be soon. It was a beautiful summer day and surprisingly enough the grass was cool on his hooves. Not far off though he saw a little colt running through the meadow. He was a little one like he'd once been. "Young one." He called to the colt.

Chogan froze, like a deer when sighted as he stared at the huge stallion before him. He had a similar hair style to his own mother, but he didn't recognize him. His soft ears pressed against his head as he slowly walked over to the other male. He made sure to keep taking looks at his family not too far away.

"H-hello?" he greeted as he finally came to stand before the (what he thought was...) massive stallion. He looked up at the other's face, and then to his antlers. Chogan hoped he'd get antlers like that one day... but he wasn't entirely sure, after all, his father wasn't like his mother.

He had to squint to make eye contact with the stallion, but he didn't care. There was something in those eyes, something that reminded him of his own family, not too far away. The breeze tickled over his coat as he continued to stare silently; his curiosity peaking and his mouth, for once, actually shutting.

Zheadeos smiled at the young colt. He was so small compared to the others he'd recently been around but he was just as other foals were. His quick glances toward a small family. He couldn't make out the family so well at his angle but he figured that would be the only thing able to have the young one looking away from him."Who is you mother little one?"

He cocked his head to the side causing his braid to shift as he examined the foal. He was sure the colt had to belong to his sister because not my Cerynei made home in the fields. His colors were similar as will to Little Windy's Cream and Tan coloring. If the colt was not one of her's he'd be surprised to say the very least.

Chogan had been lost in staring for a moment at the seemingly large, in comparison, stallion before him. He hoped he'd get so big one day. He would be able to protect his mother better if he were that big. He nodded, not because he was answering, but because he was giving himself a silent vow, yet again, to his mother. After the loss of his father to another mare, he vowed to his mother he would be her protector, always and forever. Their bond was closer to each other than Chogan's siblings seemed to be with Little Wind.

He had to swallow before his throat became coated with saliva again. He hadn't realized he was still staring up. "Oh, uh, L-Little Wind, she's my mommy," he said softly. It wasn't that he was afraid. He held some trepidation, but there were things going on under the surface that while he could not understand, he could feel. This stallion was no one to be afraid of. He seemed, if anything, one to be admired. Maybe it was his size in comparison to Chogan.

Chogan offered a cheesy grin, finally shedding the apprehension he had been feeling. He wouldn't allow himself to ever feel frightened. If he did, how was he supposed to protect his mother? He stood proud, stretching out his neck, trying to make himself look taller in hopes that it was working. His little grin still on his face. "Who are you?"

Zheadeos shifted his cloven hooves under the small colts stare. He'd once been that small though it was hard to believe that he was that small though he knew otherwise. There was a sound backbone to the little colt which was endearing. A small part of him felt like nuzzling the little colt but he refrained.

He grinned happily when the colt seemed to gather his words."Little Wind? Your mother is my sister." He nodded glad to see her baskets had indeed popped. He was sure his sister was over come with joy that her little ones had come to light. "I am your uncle Zheadeos. I grew up with your mother." He nodded once more causing his braid to slip forward. His furry ear flicked back as something brushed the grass behind.

He flicked his tail to the side noticing the young colt wouldn't hold a set of antlers like him. It was no matter, he'd have the sleek Cerynei body. His Cloven hooves would give him sure silent footing in the forest. He'd learn the bonus's to the cloven hooves, it would even be helpful when it came to water. It had taken himself a long to time to understand the bonus to cloven hooves and the water. "What might your name be?"

Chogan's eyes brightened up at the mention of Zheadeos' affiliation with his mother. His tail danced in excitement and his little legs began jittering. There was so much energy in him that he had to spin around once to get it out. He was a curious thing certainly. "Oh wow! It's hard to believe someone as big as you were little once," he said as his eyes arched in a smile. Any fear left in the deep cavities of his body now gone and replaced with complete respect and adoration.

"What was it like, growing up with my mommy? Was she fun like she is now? She said she was like me, but she could only be saying that because she's my mommy..." He felt so proud of himself for being able to analyze any potential "mom-lie."

He trotted around his uncle, getting a better look at his hooves, his antlers and his tail. Chogan looked back at his own tail, giving it a flick in approval. It was astonishing how easy this one could come from one emotion to the next. "You look more like Grandpa though, than mommy," he stated, proud of himself for yet another analysis.

Zheadeos chuckled at the young colt's energy and zest. Young and so full of bright energy that came with being innocent. He was indeed very much like LittleWind when they were younger. A bouncing ball of energy, he was most likely very hard to keep up with once he got going. "Yes, we all start small and then grow." He smiled warmly down at the colt, very much like his dear sister.

The questions started in and memories washed up in his mind as if they had just happened a few days back. His antlers had been small and he'd not wanted them being so different from their father. He'd Grown to accept his difference and learned to harness the difference."Growing up with your mother was certainly an adventure. Whenever Rhy would take us off where we weren't suppose to be you mother would run ahead and run back. She was full of energy where your other uncle was full of mischief. She was curious too which is what got her to go along with Rhy's misguided wanderings." He smiled at the little adventures they'd gone on when they were so young they weren't suppose to wander off. They would get in so much trouble. "Getting in trouble was never fun but you mother did make it enjoyable. I don't think she's lying about being just like you though because you do remind me of her when we were young." He nodded thinking about it the young colt even looked more like his mother than Zhea himself.

Zhea watched the colt as he trotted around examining him. He'd once wished he could examine a Stallion with his traits. He'd been curious how his antlers would look because thinking you'd have tree branches sticking out of your head wasn't always exciting. "I once wanted to be just like your grandpa because I looked so much like him." He smiled "Have you ever gone to the pond in the early morning with him?" That was his favorite memory he had with his father. The Morning he'd decided he would go off and explore the world.
