Okay. So I recently played a 3v3 game. I was Zerg. My teammate was Zerg. And my other teammate was Terran. The enemy races were Toss, Toss, and Terran.

I thought, okay semi large map but 2 zerg. We should be able to eliminate at least one with a semi early 8-9 pool. So my buddy Zerg goes straight into a 7 pool and I 9 pool. Formidable force. We put the pressure on pretty early. But it takes about a minute to cross the map. So I'm keeping pressure on with lings while my zerg buddy builds a few roaches. We were able to eliminate the terran player, who had forgotten repair his burning buildings and lifts his Command Center to safety. So it's 3v2. My terran teammate is trying to go MMM but somehow is running out of minerals... I checked his base... he had to make sure he wouldn't get supply blocked and basically built rows and rows and rows of supply depots in the back. Ugh.

Anyway. As we're making another round through the toss base, I notice that one of the toss went straight into void rays and another went straight into a 4 gate and was working on collosi. I knew we didn't have much time. We threw down some expos, I went into hydras to counter the Voids. He went into Corruptors for the collosi, and was trying to rush broodlords off of 1 1/2 base. We were able to hold them... but not for long. Basically it was a 2v2 because our terran ally was pretty much useless.

I'm wondering. What should have been my strat?
Should I have gone broodlords and corruptors? Should I have massed hydras, while good, don't really do well against mass stalkers with collosi?

The stalkers had blink so they took out the broodlords super fast with target firing. The Void rays just overwhelmed me.

I mean what Zerg unit is good against the toss deathball and a ton of voids?

Lings die to fast to the collosi. Infestors maybe? Ultras, may have taken a while to build and would have been useless to the void rays. Would mutas have been a safe choice over hydras?

Thoughts?

I feel like muta with roach/ultra/hydra on the ground would have worked at least a little better. Corrupters are good against the colossus since they have the damage bonus, but you would of needed to target his void rays first, since they could kill them.

It seems like it was an uphill battle, and good micro would of played a large factor in the fights.

It's hard to say what the best unit counter would have been, since they had a spread of units themselves, but brood lords just seemed like a bad idea against it imo.

It was a really hard transition. I was presented with the dilema if I should tech ground units or mass both ground and air. My expos kept being taken out so my resources were unstable.

It did feel like an uphill battle.

There's nothing I really could do against the collosi/stalker deathball.

it's really strong, but if you can fg the stalkers away from the colossus for a second, and NP the colossus, you can wreck the stalkers for a while.

Have you ever tried a infestor/ling/bling/ultra combo? The fungal holds down and weakens the units so that the banelings can come crashing in and vaporize the gateway units. Lings (or ultras. Depends on where your tech is at) mop up whatever's left. It's real gas heavy, but I've seen it work out.

I would go with hydra and mutualisk combo cuz hydra is very Very good in large groups and will eat up voids if u have enough (trust me i played toss and got pwned that way) and mutualisks will deal woth collosi problem. i dont go with corrupters cuz they r hard to make in mass production and kill lots of resources.

i don't play zerg much, but i think just a few ultras could've taken out the collosi/stalkers, while you could've sent hydras with a few infestors to deal with the voids. But what you should've done mostly is yell at the terran guy to try harder.
