The golden door shined in the early morning sun and the marble steps glimmered like diamonds. She stood awkwardly, a crumpled piece of paper in her hand, straining her eyes to read it. The woman was wearing her usual: a small black hat with dark red material decorating it; a black no-sleeve shirt with teal trimmings. Teal leggings and two elbow-length gloves of the same color that did not include her fingers. She wore small black boots and, of course, was heavily make-uped. Her small, feline hazel eyes stood out by the black eyeliner and beige blush. Her nails were long and painted the same color as most of her outfit.
Lily was anything but normal. To anyone on the street, she would have looked a seventeen-year-old, very punk and rebellious. But no, the woman was a professional opera singer, and the building before her was her new residence. Lily stepped inside, having made sure it was the same address written on her paper, and glanced around. Almost instantly, she was ushered to a back office where she was greeted by the company's owner, having being recognized as their new potential star. La Carlotta had quit, Miss Daae was pregnant and therefore unable to play the parts, and since everyone believed that the Phantom had long disappeared from the catacombs of the opera house, there was no hesitation to accept this young performer into their company. There was no threat. Almost none.
