Please do not post in this thread.
Your Beacon is your henshin item/object/symbol. It can be a lot of things, and is generally related to the type of magical girl/boy you are. They are often either objects of a high personal importance to their owners or a gift from either Aphrodite or Thief.
Beacons are required for transformation into magical stage. No beacon no transforming, no powers. If a beacon is made of multiple parts and even one part is missing it won't work.

Examples of common beaconsSome beacons are more common than others. Here is a small list of example beacons to help you decide on what to use or to brainstorm something new. When in doubt go with a wand. Wands Lockets Tattoos* Necklaces Small accessories * Please note that the schools tend to require these be covered up durring classtime if they are in a openly visible location.

Restrictions and limitations Because you never know when the day needs to be saved your beacon needs to be something that you can be caught with in school. It also needs to either be something that would be normal to be seen worn by students or easily hidden. Because of their nature and how vitally important beacons are to magical people they do have some restrictions:
Size: Beacons need to be small enough to be hidden and easy to casually carry on your person. If you can't easily hide it, you may find yourself in a situation where you can't whip it out, such as at a school dance. You really can't whip out your magical crutch from under your miniskirt. So please be reasonable. Really small things are ok, however that risks the chance that they could be lost. Thus even though really small things like dice or an ear ring are allowed they are really risky.
Weight: Beacons need to be easily portable and something that can be carried around for a long time. No barbels, large chunks of metal/rocks, ect.
Durability: Beacons cannot be perishable, expendable, or alive (Partner beacons are the ONLY exception. They need to be alive). They need to be able to last for the long haul. This is an epic battle between sides, not a single skirmish. Because of this food and consumables are not allowed. No cupcakes, bags of popcorn, beverages, liquids, drugs, ect. Another big hazard is things that are easily broken. If a beacon looses even a very small part of itself it will no longer work. No glass roses, tissue paper, animals, ect.
Hazards: Beacons are the keys to transformation. They should not be vital to your ability to attack. They also need to be something that can be in school. Thus beacons can not be weapons. No swords, knives, guns, ect. They also can not be anything that is generally dangerous. No poisons, explosives, ect.
Note: Characters created before May 14th, 2011 may have beacons that don't adhere to this rule. They were created before this rule was in place, and are ok to keep these beacons.

Event only beacons We will sometimes have special or abnormal beacons assigned for kids gained through events. All beacons listed here can be gained only by events and are a pain in the butt to use very rare. It is important to note that all people with rare beacons are RP required.
Partners as beacons: Instead of having an object or marking be their beacon these two people have each other as a beacon. Because of this it is absolutely impossible to transform without the other present. Also be warned that something very bad will happen if the partners are kept away from each other for too long.
