"It's seems an easy escape is out of the question," Kione thought as he fixed his hood from his rob once again to make sure no one could notice his face and possibly recognize him for who he is. The summoner pulled out his summoning tome and slip through the pages of the book. If Kione was going to continue escaping from this place, he would have to help these soldiers fight one more time before that could happen, as he deducted from the conversation he had listened in on quietly.

His mouth began to move as he whispered the incantation that was written on the tome. Suddenly small portals around various areas around Kione's spot, whether other people noticed or not as they were running towards the enemy he didn't know. Soon a small little squad of about 10 phantom warriors with stoic looks rose up from the ground once more like in the prison. They simply stood there quietly as they awaited orders from their master. Kione pointed in the direction where all the soldiers were running and gave them a nod. His summons quickly reacted and charged in the same direction. They quickly caught up to other soldiers and warriors as they also charged, but completely ignored them and only aimed for who their summoner deemed as the enemy.

Closing his summoning tome, he switched out to his flux tome he obtained as he walked forward in the same direction. The dark magic use rwalked as running in robes are not the smartest thing to do. "hopefully this battle will be done with and finish quickly," he hoped.

- Kierkess Renvald -

Suddenly realizing he was lagging behind the rest of the escapees, Kierkess recovered his battle axe from the head of a soldier that had already been dying anyway and emerged from the prison at long last. Despite the chaos of it all and the abundance of death, the knight allowed himself a breath of fresh air and a small grin. "Clearly, my efforts were blessed! I pity those who stand in my path." The hubris of that statement would probably be laughable to anyone who factored his miniscule role in the break-out into the equation. User Image

It was about this time that Kierkess saw that there were no more familiar faces around. He'd been planning to follow that swordsman that had broke him out, but that hadn't been possible since he'd gotten so wrapped up in...other things. But the whinnying of riding horses suddenly caught his attention and his gaze fell on what appeared to be a stable. Already, the prisoners had taken what they could from them...but there were still a few left! Perfect. Surely there'd be a passable one in there.

Paying little heed to whatever else was going on, Kierkess dashed over to recieve his due payment for wrongful incarceration. He'd pretty much use that excuse for as long as it suited him, really. Everything was a lot easier that way. Despite seeing through the entrance that the horses were a bit on edge from all the activity, Kierkess approached the nearest one even as it eyed him suspiciously. He returned its stare, all the while looking it over for any "structural" flaws. "That's it, then. You are now Bedivere." The axe knight nodded to himself and passed on the name of his lost mount in Magvel to this random possibly violent creature that was merely a leftover of the prison raid.

The rest of his time in the stable was spent coaxing the horse into allowing him to get close enough to mount it. The creature resisted as if to say "No no you fool, I'm quite taken, please just go try that one over there", but eventually he did manage it. By the time the axe knight had trotted out of the stable, the soldiers outside seemed to have gotten organized. "Huh. Wonder what we're doing..." he murmured, joining their ranks as his fingers flexed around the handle of his halberd.

Noticing that he was rapidly being left behind and that if he was left behind he would be alone, which is not the wisest of positions for a monk, he hiked up the hem of his dirty robes and ran after the others. Catching up to the Kione, he stopped by the summoner. "Well I bet those things come in handy during a fight, eh? Kinda creepy if i do say myself though, what with the being constructs of dark magic and such." With that he launched a Shine at an archer who was taking pot shots at the soldiers from a nearby roof, breaking the man's bow and smashing into his head.

Clara had gotten a few more swords, after the conflict ended in the prison, since her silver sword was now almost broken. She has also gotten rid of the rest of the armor she had on and put her hair back up.

"Ah much better." She said with a smile. She started heading to where everyone else was, just in time to hear Cyric's speech. After the end of it, she felt recharged. It was as though she had gotten a second wind.

"Alright!" She yelled, "Time to get out of here. I've got a home to go back to."

"Even though there is no one there to greet me when I get back" The myrmidon suddenly frowned at that thought. There really was no one to go back to Eyris to. She had to immediately get the thought out of her head and focus on the task at hand. She saw the soldiers and her focus came back. She pulled out a steel sword and charged in.

However, though she had expected things to be calm, they instead got hectic with soldiers rushing blindly around. Thankfully, Cyric managed to talk some sense into them.

Mihira watched the ten soldiers leave with the civilians. She knew it was her job to report back to Wallace, but she was scared that there would be an archer lying in wait to take aim at her the moment she took off. The whole reason she was down with everyone was because she was shot down- and that was in the dark. There were bound to be more archers and with it now being day, it made her an easier target. She didn't want Darius to get hurt again... But since those ten soldiers were going to the encampment, they were told to give a report. That meant she could stay and help out. She was one of the only people there who could fly, so ideally she had value. But her same fear still remained...

Just then, there was a shot of fire that crashed into a building. Mihira looked to see that the two winged people had already flown into action. One attacked from afar so the other could go in close. They weren't afraid at all... which meant Mihira couldn't afford to be, either! If she stayed back, that meant more ground people would get picked off. So, after gaining some conviction, Mihira patted her wyvern and then flew forward.

She used the distraction the others had made to take an archer by surprise. As she got in close, Darius grabbed him with his hind feet and then flung him into another archer on another roof. Mihira then tugged the reigns to turn around so that they didn't get too far ahead. As she was flying back, light magic flashed into another archer that could have hit her. She looked down and remembered that it wasn't just her and the winged people dealing with the enemies up high, the ground could give support, too. Mihira signaled Darius to spin around and then dashed towards the next target. She had to be as useful as she could!

User Image "Here they come..." Garthal murmured. The Mordachean captain watched as the intruders exploded themselves forward. The rooftop archers were serving their purpose, but wouldn't last long with such daring foes. The best they were able to do really was pick off a few Learanian soldiers in the front lines.

"Infantry charge!" ordered Captain Garthal. From the alleyways, soldiers and dark mages began to emerge and attack. Steel clashed as dark tendrils whizzed passed and collided with those unfortunate.

"Dark Knights, begin your assault." Around Garthal, mounted magicians of the dark arts opened their spellbooks and began to chant a lengthy spell. At the close of each, cryptic runes, that together vaguely formed the shape of eyes, appeared above the intruders as if looking at them. Then, black spheres appeared at random places in the charging crowd, attempting to engulf anything it could. The spheres swirled around until they ultimately collapsed in on themselves, destroying whatever had gotten caught inside.

Garthal smiled. The fate of the infantry mattered little, they were pawns to be used to achieve a goal. Their purpose was to whittle down the enemy numbers and prolong their advance while the dark knights attacked from the rear with their Eclipse spells. Once the intruders broke through, the cavalry could finish the rest. Garthal had made his move, it was the intruders' turn to make theirs.

Seeing that dark magic tendrils were striking down some of the arajudians Verruckt looked around for enemy shamans and their like. Upon spotting a shaman in the midst of chanting a spell he pointed at the unsuspecting man and launched a shine at the shaman, stiking him in the side of the head and knocking him to the ground where he was trampled. With that the monk laughed and screamed "St. Elmine protect us!" He then started firing off Shine spells at the enemy dark magic users who were in range of his own magic and shrugging off the dark magic spells than he failed to dodge.

You may call me useless for the fact that I am learning swordsmanship with my left arm

That was just great. Shamans coming out towards them? Just a great way for him to go on since he didn't have a Light Brand on him. He was just glad that Lena was near him with her Shine tome. That could stop the onslaught of dark tendrils towards them so that he could move forward towards the shamans.

Speaking of stopping them, he turned around to tell her about this plan but she had been one stop ahead of him. She had her tome open and let off a shine spell at the dark tendrils going towards them. So far so good. Though the sounds of other foot steps in the distance told Ziaram that they needed to hurry. "Come on Lena. Lets not stick around here. Stay close to me." He said, extending his free hand to her. Once she took it he started off towards the closest cover.

Looking around the corner, he tried to get a close look at the scene. As he looked up at the scene he frowned. "That's not good. Somewhere out there we have stronger magic coming towards us." He commented on about the Eclipse spell in the sky. Where those dark mages were he wasn't sure so there was only one way: Forward. Charging forward, he slashed along a shaman that had gotten in his way, kicking the body to the side. Need to get on towards the enemy. He thought, watching some shine rain down on a couple other shamans near him.

I say that this is just another challenge for me to overcome while my arm is recovering

Clara saw the dark magic come up around everyone. This had made her a bit worried. She knew if any of those touched her, she would at the very least be seriously hurt, but as worst she would be dead. She did her best to dodge the dark magic.

She then saw the spheres appearing. The myrmidon had gotten out of the way, but saw that others were not so lucky. Clara watching in horror as she saw those who got caught were destroyed.

"T-t-that could have been me." She told herself. Clara shook her head and sighed to calm herself down. "Their sacrifices will not be in vain. We will stop them!" She psyched herself back up and charged back into the fray.

The civilians have been taken care of and hopefully they reached the outskirts of the gate in time to inform Tanya and the rest that everybody was still alive and all right for the time being. The enemy obviously wasted no time as they knew of their comings. "Don't try to handle them alone!" Cyric shouted, realizing some soldiers running off ahead of everyone in hopes of clearing the path before everybody got there. They all just got out of that cave hole and if it was something they couldn't take right now, it was an enemy alone. Course, that still didn't stop some people who fell right into that Dark Knight's trap. Cyric drew an arrow and aimed for one of the closer Dark Knights that he could see and released it, hitting them directly on the fore-arm and causing them to drop the tome. If anybody was close to there, they could probably finish him off as well as stop some of the cavaliers. Back-ups would be able to at least knock them down far enough for finishers.

Quentin shifted his head towards the new skirmish, leaning forwards on his cane. "Hrm. I guess we still have some enemies to deal with. Diet will have to wait, Günther! Be a good kitty, and stay away from harm, okay?" Quentin said as he stroke Velkan over the head. "Now come, evildoers! Quentin Hazard Blake will face you! En garde!" He screamed into the distance, as he joined up with the rest of the battle.

Or he would have, if he hadn't ran headfirst into a wall, knocking him out.

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Cyric had made his strategy. Just as Horatio expected, it was one that considered all the possibilities. And there was even hope that reinforcements were on their way. The situation was starting to improve, however slowly. Horatio nodded when Cyric finished speaking. He agreed with his plan, and would help him see it through.

He took a last gulp of his vulnerary to ease the pain from his minor injuries, as well as the pain in his joints that came with swinging his hammer. Horatio stayed by Cyric's side, watching his back as the two led the charge toward the northern gate. The dark magic blasts that went off ahead made the warrior stop in his tracks.

"We're still well out of their range, but some of the Arajudians..." Horatio muttered, looking forward at some of those who met the unfortunate end of the spells. Dark magic was powerful and ruthless. There was little chance to survive against it. The only way they would get of this alive was to aim at the Dark Knights.

Drawing out his own bow, he followed up on Cyric's shot to finish one of the Dark Knights that he had disabled. He drew back another arrow, about to fire and weaken one of the oncoming cavalry, but then he heard a thud right behind him. The noise caused him to turn around. "Quentin! By Paggy, what were you thinking?" Horatio said out loud. He tried to break away from the front lines to help him, but the lance of an enemy cavalier sped in his direction, forcing him to pay attention to the fight in front of him.

"Someone get him to safety!" Horatio exclaimed, managing to still give orders as he fought against the enemy. "I'll stop anyone who comes this way."
