Spring was in the air... and as the days got warmer, Isolde could tell that summer was coming fast as she sat in the park, resting in the shade of some bushes off the main path. Things had been getting a bit stuffy back at the mansion lately and so she'd taken some time over the past few days to go out and get some fresh air and explore the surroundings a bit more. Though... that turned out to be a bad idea for her. As with spring came babies... and she'd seen quite a few cats around with their own litters of kittens in the area. Her eyes stung a little as she once again tried to keep from tearing up just thinking about the mate she'd lost long ago and the kittens they could have been having this spring or any other but would never be now.
It was a tad disturbing to her, since it had been some time since his death and Isolde hadn't had any problems like this during spring since the first year. But for some reason it was hitting her hard this year, and she wasn't sure she could go back and face anyone right now with the mood she was in. A part of her kept saying it was her own fault for not letting anyone in close again... for not trying to have a relationship. Another part said it was normal to mourn for what could have been and to just give it time. Which part was right, she was never sure of... and so she continued to sit there. Making sure to stay out of sight of the humans, as well as any happy families.

Unfortunately for her, this guy was neither a human nor a happy family.
CC was in one of those odd moments of pure sobriety, mostly because he was dealing with something worse: seasonal allergies. He knew that to get drunk while sneezing, drip-nosed, and headachey was just not a chick-magnet sort of aura he wanted about him. And it was not as if he didn't deny the bottle every once in a while, honest! Especially when in the midst of spring with its vibrant colors and multiplying babies and candy being sold everywhere and -
"Achoo!"
- and the damn allergies.
CC had attempted staying inside the mansion basement, but even there he fell prey to pollen. His only solution at this point was to try and find some sort of medication for his symptoms, a few tissues, and wait it out. He was rubbing his nose of mucus with the sleeve of his tattered shirt when he spotted a familiar face sitting in a park bench.
"'Eeeeeeey~!" he called as he approached. "Enjoyin' the view I see. Ooor . . . not. What's with the grump face?"

Oh no... not this guy again. The last person she wanted to be talking to right now was someone who never seemed to be able to detach the bottle from his lips for any longer than it took to try and hit on some unsuspecting girl. Though as Isolde took another look, there didn't seem to be any bottle in sight... a rare occurance indeed.
"Heh... spring time just isn't my thing this year. Not sure why it is bothering me so much, but I can't stand seeing all those happy couples, families, whatever. Humans, cats, dogs... whatever else they have around here. Just all making me a bit sick." she replied, quickly glancing up at him before picking a spot on the ground and just zoning out a little again. She wasn't really in the mood to divulge her life story, and somehow she felt that it wouldn't really make a difference to him right now anyways... if ever. CC had always seemed more about the fun time than anything else, her story was anything but a good time.
"So... what has you out here all sniffly?" A poor attempt at changing the subject, but it was an attempt nonetheless. One she was hoping would work to distract him from delving any further into her dark mood.

Huh. You would have figured all the new families would at the most be nuisances - because damn could kids make noise. Imagine, being jealous of that sort of life!
Pff. Jealous.
"If you didn't like seeing all that s**t - stuff, I mean - why're you outside? I'd figured staying inside would kinda stop you from seeing any of those scurrying anklebiters," CC said with a small shrug, leaning a tad on the bench's edge. "S'for me, I'm just trying to catch some fresh air, Helps with the hangovers." He twanged at his halo idly. "I was gonna go take a quick walk around the park, see what Spring brought. You in? Better than sitting around moping."

"It just seemed too closed in and stuffy. I thought that getting out for some fresh air would be a good thing, and then when I got out.. well there was all of this. Though the flowers and such are decent, which was the while reason I came out today while it was sunny." Isolde replied with a little roll of her eyes. She couldn't expect him to understand something like this, especially since it seemed he loved the bottle more than anyone else. Maybe someday he would understand... maybe not. it was hard to picture him being settled down with anyone or even having a family willingly... and that in it's self made her laugh a little.
Getting up, she dusted herself off and looked around, curious to see what all, if anything, was in this area. Looking before hadn't been a bit priority since she was just trying to get away from things. "Why not. I'll take a quick walk with you if you want. Can't hurt anything, and at least this way if you decide to keel over or something, you won't get picked up by some strange human."

The white tom gave her a mock-hurt look. "Honestly, Isolde, you think I'm just a pure drunkard and not some complex personality waiting for a chance to be challenged and loved by my roomie?"
He really seemed genuine in those words despite the joking expression. And then he belched, which ruined any of that seriousness. Aaaagh.
"Er. 'Scuse me. How's about this: I won't keel over just for you, if you lighten up for the walk. Sound like a good deal?" CC straightened himself from the bench and stretched a bit, wiping at his eyes a bit. "I know first-hand it's not good for a fella to be near a woman who's not in a less than stellar mood."

She just arched a brow at him and was trying to figure out if he was serious or not until the belch broke through her concentration and ruined the mood. Oh Isolde didn't doubt that he could be serious at times, and maybe there was more to him than meets the eye. But when she only got to see one side of him, what else was a girl going to think? "Well maybe if you showed it a little more, than a girl wouldn't have to assume her roomie is a drunken womanizer all the time." she countered, but there was nothing behind it to make him think that she was being snippy about it.
"Alright... I'll do my best to lighten up some. " it really was all she could promise right now, since things were a bit confusing in the first place as to why things were effecting her this much. Why this year, she probably would never know, but he was right. Being sour about it wasn't going to do anyone any good.
"So, shall we just wander a bit then, or was there a specific spot you were looking to check out?"

He grinned at her response. "Touche. Been pretty bad about the bottle before I met ya, you gotta know. But I'll keep that in mind -"
AaaaCHOOOO!
"Agh. I'll keep that in mind the next time I don't feel like I should be medicated for the sniffles," CC retried with a scowl, wiping his nose with his sleeve. "Y'know what, I know what'll make us both happy, and be sure nobody will be bothering us. We head to the pond. We take out my gunblade. We start shooting down a few birds that come by, and - presto! Get lunch, scare the s**t out of people nearby, and kill things in a safe manner. What's the lady say?"
It was something indeed that he didn't make one of his gunblade/c**k comparison jokes.

She couldn't help but laugh a little as he sneezed again, making an attempt to cover her mouth with her hand. It was kinda funny seeing him like this after observing his usual behavior, though she did want to help some of she could. "Hey... it could be worse. If you want, after we get back home I'll run out and get you something that might help with the sniffles for a while. Or at least some tissues." she offered. It was better than having him sniffle and sneeze all night... and he did really look miserable at times.
"Knocking out two birds with one stone... I like that idea. Besides, what girl could ever turn down a bit of violence and scaring humans?" Isolde replied with a smile, already feeling a bit better. This might not be so bad after all and who knew? Maybe he might take to talking with her a bit more without being drunk... which seeing as the others weren't around much, it would be a nice change of pace. "Lead the way then."

"Righto~"
And so they cut a path through the park without much incident, save for the several onlooking humans - but that was to be expected. Ikeburo's cat population was something of an attraction for the city, and CC could only imagine what he and Isolde looked like to them: how they couldn't see the clothes and two-legged walking was beyond him. Really, it was all a mystery.
Hell, he would have thought those Facility nerds would have gotten an inkling of that much at least . . . But of course that wasn't "polite conversation" to bring up with so many wounded by those scientists. Though he did wonder who would orchestrate an explosion . . .
Ah, but he had inklings. Inklings that had no business ruining his good day.
"Here we are. Nice clear water, nice clear sky, not too close to the humans - s'perfect," the white tom purred as they reached the pond's banks. "Mind, shooting usually happens in the way early mornings, so I'm not sure how much luck we'll have. Hell, we might as well picnic out while we're here, I say."
