Ryn sighed as he leaned against the nearest wall.
"It's not a mystery at all, in fact. It's all because I wanted the power to protect Ari from Katsuto originally. I wanted the power to completely eradicate him so she would be safe. Her safety was worth everything to me. After all, I haven't served Nyx in about a century or so. I've been on my own." he said, looking at Lux.

The little girl looked up at Ryn with a smile.
"Okay, I've decided. I'm going to give you a chance at redemption. Consider yourself lucky, mister Ryn. I don't give this chance to everyone. Only those that show they have good cause and pure hearts are given the chance to pass this test."

Laughing to himself, he looked at Lux.
"A test? Damnit, I was always bad at those in school." he said, still leaning against the wall.
"What are you going to have me do? Run around with a spiked bat smiting perverts or something?"

With a small pout, Lux stood again on tiptoes to hit Ryn's nose.
"No cursing. Don't you realize who you're talking to?"
She sighed, shaking her head.
"No, this is mostly a series of tests to see if you can get over that darkness that Nyx put inside of you, and also if you can complete a bit of penance for your sins.I can begin them whenever you are ready."

Ryn leaned up from the wall and walked towards Lux, rubbing his nose.
"Egh. Stop hitting me, I'll stop, jeeze. Let's just get this started.."

She nodded.
"Okay, this might sting a little bit."
Carefully the small girl placed her hand on Ryn's heart as a bright light engulfed her and she disappeared inside of him.

Cringing from the sudden power that had entered inside him, he struggled to stay standing upright. As the seconds ticked on, he fell to one knee. It felt like his entire body was burning on the inside..
"W-what the..W-what are you d-doing to me..?"

Lux's voice echoed inside his mind.
"Calm down, you're acting as though I'm killing you or something. I'm just trying to help you. Okay, this might hurt a little more...
In a bright flash, Lux appeared back on the ground, though Ryn was separated into his light and dark halves.

As the two Ryn's seperated from each other, they stepped away from one another almost instantaneously. It was obvious that the two did not get along at all from the glare that they were giving one another.

"There, now I can get answers from both of you. I need to know about your past. What caused you to have separate forms in the first place? If I can learn a little bit more about the differences between you, then it will be easier to understand what Nyx might have been planning for you."
She looked up at the two different Ryns before turning to the lighter one.
"Okay, you first."

Ryn Souzya nodded to Lux before speaking.
"All I know is that I was in Cylia when I awoken, and met you, where I've been since until I headed out to Rosencroix Kingdom under your orders."
Kuromaru growled at Souzya..
"You only exist because I casted you out to save Ari! I couldn't do anything to save her as a Human, so I took any power I could to destroy Katsuto!"

Lux opened her mouth to speak when a chill caught her off guard. She looked back and forth between the two Ryns before taking hold of their hands and pulling them together.
"I think we will have to finish talking later. For now, I need both of you to join back together. Something is happening back at the castle, I can feel it. Nyx might be behind it. You need to get back there."
She pressed a hand lightly to Ryn's chest, sending a pulsing light flowing into him.
"This will help if you need it. Don't let Nyx win. Now go, hurry!"
The girl vanished in a blinding flash, the light spreading to encompass Ryn and send him back to the Rosencroix Castle.
