Entry 1- Winter 11th, Year 5
This seems like the first time I've been able to sit down and right in this dusty old thing. Though I keep hearing the writing in a journal is good for your mind so I guess I'll trying out. This is my first year here on this island. And well, it was a weird one. I figured living here would be easy. I had Erika and Alt with me, and both of them are low maintenance. My career isn't that stressful. And other than being a father, I don't really have other responsibilities. Yet somehow, I seemed to be busier than I was before coming here. Well not really. I still have lots of free time. Maybe it's just certain events are so big that they seem like they take up all my time. Whatever the reason, this year has just been tedious. So I'm quite glad that it's almost over. I just hope next year gets better.
So I guess I'll talk about what happened this year. I mean besides moving in and all that, some other key things have been going on in my life. Around the first couple weeks I moved in I met a nice lady while taking Erika for a trip around town. We hit it off and Erika met a playmate, it was a nice encounter. Yet, it turned spoiled after I was accused of stealing her from this crazy guy who kidnapped Erika. The whole thing was just a mess. But, everything turned out okay I guess. My daughter wasn't hurt, and I did end up seeing that girl again to. Well saw and slept with her. Either way, that must have meant shes safe.
A little bit after that event, I was greeted officially into town by this guy named Turner. It was a weird meeting, but he did take me around town and give me the low down on the place. Though he was trying to hook me up with a bunch of girls. It was pretty problematic. I'm not ready to date just yet. And Erika is definitely not ready for a new mother. It'll take some time. But, Turner's efforts were appreciated. He was a good guy, and at least now I know quite a bit more about the island. Which helps, cause now I know who to stay away from when I'm at the festivals.
Speaking of women though, I did meet one who is pretty interesting. This girl Blaire I met on the beach. She was pretty playful. It's been awhile since I could talk with someone so youthfully... Is I guess the word to describe it would be? Ever since I moved out here, I feel like I have to keep on this mature front. But, it was nice to let that go for a bit. And luckily I keep seeming to run into this Blaire girl. It's been awhile since I made a friend. It'd be nice to keep her in my life. Things have gotten kind of boring since Alt ran off to college.
Well I guess that was my year in a quick little burst. This journal thing is a pretty big hassle though. Hopefully I won't have to do it again any time soon.
