Lila stepped onto the Quidditch pitch, broom slung confidently over her shoulder. The nerves were still thereâ€”flickering beneath the surfaceâ€”but they didnâ€™t shake her like they used to. After another year of flying, training, and pushing herself harder than ever, she wasnâ€™t just hoping to make an impressionâ€”she planned to. Signing up for tryouts felt different this time: not like a gamble, but a declaration. She could see it alreadyâ€”swooping through the sky, dodging Bludgers, holding her own. This year wasnâ€™t about proving she belonged. She knew she did. Now it was time to claim her place.

Irmak didnâ€™t hesitate as she scrawled her name on the tryout sheetâ€”again. Last yearâ€™s â€œdecisionâ€ (if you could even call that biased mess of a process a real decision) still burned in the back of her mind. She should have made the team. She would have made the teamâ€”if the captains hadnâ€™t been complete hacks with no eye for talent. But fine. Let them wallow in mediocrity for a season. She was back, better than ever, and this time, she wasnâ€™t giving them any excuse to overlook her brilliance.

She surveyed the pitch, imagining the moment she snatched the Snitch clean out of the airâ€”right in front of the smug little faces that had doubted her. Beater? Please. Chaser? Absolutely not. Seeker was the only position worthy of her. Precision, speed, style. The spotlight. That was the Irmak way.

With her chin high and victory speech version 2.0 already forming in her head, Irmak strode onto the field like she owned it. Because this year, she would.

Hesperia was both excited and terribly nervous to be the new Captain of the Slytherin team. She had big shoes to step into and she needed to win. Her pride and her reputation drove her forward to win. Hesperia had Csuri's strategies and had spent her time recovering over the summer developing her own. There were some big spots to fill and she already had a few people lined up from their reserves last year to fill them. Hesperia carried out the Quidditch supplies and then set out the sign up forms. Then she started doing her warm-up stretches, feeling more than ready to tackle this coming year.
