TATSUYA MIYAKI

When it feels like a kick in the teeth, I can take it.

Throw your stones and you won't see me break it.

Location: Outside the hole in the ground.
    Mood: Confident
    Ulterior Motives: Saving my World
Thoughts: "What is this... I don't even..."

Pure excitement flowed through Tatsuya’s body as he looked out upon the vastly snowy landscape that he had been forced to call home for the last 10 months. In the time he spent in his cave he found out many things about himself, he discovered true peace within his soul and he found his true ambitions. However, he understood his means of reaching his hopeful end would be considerably eased if he took his last two months to focus on increasing his strengths and techniques. He had a good idea of what all he wished to master but with his limited time he had few options, the best was to learn the shadow clone jutsu so that he could split up and learn multiple jutsu at the same time. Granted there was a chance he would fail at some points and lose precious time, however, he had to at least attempt it, if he didn’t try then there was absolutely no chance of his success, plus, if he could come to control his own soul and reach the peak in his own physical abilities then there was nothing he couldn’t accomplish as long as he put his mind to it and focused deeply on it.

With his gleeful state of mind and hopeful expression the boy immediately went into his training. He pulled his hands together to quickly surge his chakra together into his gut, then he slowly began dividing the chakra into half and finally he performed the hand seals needed for the shadow clone jutsu. He was hopeful, maybe he would be lucky enough to get the difficult jutsu on his first try, it would have fed into his ego and the power trip he was totally flying on at the moment, however, the hope was dashed momentarily as a small puff of smoke appeared next to him. Curiosity set in as the smoke took its merry time dissipating, but when it did Tatsuya began to wish it hadn’t; as the smoke cleared the grotesque figure of a short plump Tatsuya greeted the original with a happy smile and sweating glands.

“Hiya!” The chubby figure greeted happily with a chuckle, the little clone seemed happy enough, but he would be more than useless if Tatsuya wished to train, the pudgy thing looked as if he would rather sit in the cave and snack up on all of what remained of Tatsuya’s rations than learn how to further use lightning jutsu, nor did he look like he would be an amble sparring partner for advancing the his seven sword dance form. No this… thing would be useless. “Umm, do you have anything to eat? I’m starving, ooo can I have that lizard?” The pudgy boy spoke with a definite squeak of delight as he pointed at the large lizard Aoiro had become, he must have grown another couple feet, less than he had in the previous year but for what he started out as it was fairly impressive.

“No, you can’t eat Aoiro. What you can do is just poof away, you were obviously a mistake. I can’t use you at all in training.” Tatsuya spoke semi-cruelly to the alternate version of himself, however, since it was towards himself it couldn’t be taken as mean, could it? No, it was more along the lines of self loathing, but with some unique circumstances. Once he spoke he realized he should have chosen his words more carefully, for once his words exited his mouth the plump child immediately fell to the ground and began wailing loudly.

“B-B-BUT I-I-I JUST G-G-G-GOT HERE!!! I-I’m hun-hungry! I-I don’t want to-to go back yet!” The small wide child was quickly becoming more and more of a pain, and to make matters worse he was dead set on staying. To which Tatsuya decided that if he wasn’t going to go on his own he would have to remove him from the world himself, and with each passing moment he was beginning to realize that the latter option was probably going to be used. Tatsuya continued to stand over the blubbering clone and waited patiently for the tears and whimpering to cease so he could tell his clone to disperse, however when the calmness came so did an unexpected occurrence; the clones clean white pants were quickly stained with a disgusting shade of yellow.

“…” Tatsuya stared at the stain for a moment while gathering his thoughts on what had transpired in the last minute, he had attempted the shadow clone jutsu, failed, and again failed at forcing the clone to disperse. The clone threw a fit, and when he finally calmed down he- “Did you just piss yourself?” The young adult asked calmly while still staring at his plump clone. He had no idea what kind of situation he was thrown into, nor did he wish to learn why the clone lacked the basic human abilities to control its bladder. No, he didn’t even want to think that of his clone, he secretly hoped that the clone was somehow smuggling some sort of food that made the stain, though the odds of that happening were terribly slim. “Well did you? Cause if you did that’s kind of gross and pathetic,” Tatsuya continued towards he clone.

“Y-y-yes, b-but it was your fault!” The clone responded obviously growing enraged at the calloused behavior of his creator. The clone was so enraged that he attempted to jump to his feet and attack Tatsuya, though due to his inability to jump properly, or walk fast for that matter the clone’s quick movement was resorted to a pathetic looking roll along the snow, spreading the yellow stain further onto the ground. The clone had the audacity to blame Tatsuya for its own weak bladder? No, that would not be allowed if the clone wished to continue its existence. So with a scowl that could kill it dead the original bent his knee and pulled a strong kick back into the clone’s face, which in turn exploded into a puff of smoke. So much for mastering the jutsu on the first try, oh well, since a majority of the chakra he lost was returned to him he would easily be able to retry the shadow clone jutsu, only this time he would have to put forth a little bit more focus.

So, he took a little more time to draw his chakra instead of quickly bursting it out, and he took a little more time to take care with dividing his chakra. Once Tatsuya had a mental picture of exactly what he wanted in his head he pulled his chakra out along with the proper hand seals, and the resulting puff of smoke seemed a lot more correct. At least in height and width, if there were any other types of deformities Tatsuya would have to try again. Though as the smoke cleared the original ninja found himself smiling, it was the right height, and was fairly cut with his muscles, just like Tatsuya himself. Maybe he was able to get it on the second try. Although it would be safer to make sure he actually perfected it and not just appear to get it and it wind up being wrong on the battlefield.

With a close eye the boy analyzed the clone, he lifted its arms and checked in nearly every possible hidden area and such to make sure everything was proportioned correctly, which it was for the most part, granted there were small differences but they would not be detrimental to what he was needing to do. “Well it looks like you turned out perfect!” Tatsuya spoke confidently to his clone, perhaps too confidently, because as soon as the clone opened its mouth to speak Tatsuya realized where he had screwed up…

“Well howdy there! Shewt, I sure am glad you think I’m perfect; you don’t look half bad yourself. So are you out here all by yourself or are you just lost?” The clone’s speech was working, but at the same time it made Tatsuya want to beat every ounce of chakra out of it to keep it from speaking again; the clone’s accent was just too much for the young man to handle, it was both annoying and foreign to him and in all honesty it encouraged violence towards small children. To make matters worse it wouldn’t shut up. “Now you look more messed up than a badger after a fight with a big ol’ bear, what sort of hijinx have you been up to boy?”

“…” Once again Tatsuya grew silent due to his clone, at least this one looked okay, that meant he had corrected at least one issue with his previous attempt. Now all that remained was the correction of the voice, which if it came as easy as correcting the appearance then he perfecting the jutsu would take no time. First thing came first though; he needed to get rid of the southern draw that stood in front of him. “I think I was mistaken, you have some faults that would be detrimental to my survival in a battle, you are gonna have to disperse so I can get my chakra back so I can continue trying to perfect this. Thank you for not whining like the last one.”

“Awww shewt, its okay little buddy, I’ll be heading on my way then, good luck with your ju-whatsit, and all.” With a much more polite exit than his predecessor the very southern Tatsuya clone dispersed in a similar puff of smoke as he appeared with. He was nice enough and had a personality that was spot on matching Tatsuya’s, but with the alien dialect he would serve no purpose beyond training, which, in this case Tatsuya would have much preferred a perfected clone for the training. Anyway, with the smoke filling the small area the young man was granted the chakra that lay within the dispersed clone, which brought him back up to near 100 percent. Getting back to his training Tatsuya had a sort of road map of what needed to be done for his progress with the clones thus far, he pulled all the chakra he had at hand and slowly began dividing it in half while he focused deeply on the outward appearance of the clone he was wanting to call forth, once he believed he had the outer appearance down he moved on to the personality, he needed a clone so close to his mindset so it would be easy to get it to do what he wanted, and finally he focused on the voice and other senses. The boy focused intensely trying to put his own essence into the clone’s make-up so that it would be made properly without any hiccups.

Once Tatsuya felt confident about his collection of specifications he performed the proper hand seals for the shadow clone jutsu and instantly a puff of smoke filled the space beside the Udai ninja. Immediately Tatsuya was able to smile at the fact that the puff of smoke was roughly the right height and the correct width, so far so good. As the puff began to disperse Tatsuya’s grin grew, it looked spot on, the hair was all there and in the right places, his legs were perfect length, and his facial expression was perfect. “Speak.” Now for the moment of truth, if it spoke with the right voice and with the correct accent the jutsu was performed perfect.

Before the clone spoke however, he let out a small chuckle as if to express that ‘he had this,’ “hey Tat, how you doing?” The clone hit the nail on the head, the pitch was amazing, the rhythm in the clone’s voice was impeccable, he had done it, the clone was perfect.

“I’m doing well now, how are you doing?”

“I was getting annoyed that the large one got out before me, and pretty confused about the last one.” With that the clone raised his hand to which Tatsuya rose his own, performing a high five with himself in accomplishment.

TATSUYA MIYAKI

When it feels like a kick in the teeth, I can take it.

Throw your stones and you won't see me break it.

Location: Outside the hole in the ground.
    Mood: Very Confident
    Ulterior Motives: Saving my World
Thoughts: "... but I loved that clone..."

The pair of Tatsuya stood and literally stared at each other while they pondered what exactly they were going to do. The true Tatsuya was more marveled at his creation and wanted to see shat all it could really do, he had a general idea of what it could help him with, but he wanted to know the full extent of its abilities. “So what all can you do?” The original spoke kindly to the clone, hoping that he would be able to do something so extra ordinary they wouldn’t need to go further in training. Though he knew in the depths of his mind he knew such hopes were futile as the clone was nothing more than just a... well, a clone of the original Tatsuya and as such it was unable to anything that Tatsuya was unable to do.

“I can do anything you can do, as good as you can do it, and nothing else.” The clone spoke with as much insight as Tatsuya himself but no more, then again it was all he was supposed to be able to do so he was perfect. “I thought you needed to finish some training, so what are you doing just staring at me?” The clone was right, Tatsuya had brought the clone out for the main reason of fitting in as much training possible in his last two months, and if he really wanted to succeed in that he would have to get a move on, he couldn’t sustain the clone forever for it would eventually run itself out of chakra and the longer he spent staring at it trying to find some kind of deeper meaning to its existence than just what he conjured it up for would just cut into his training further than it already had.

“I guess you are right, we should get on that as soon as possible.” The true Tatsuya responded while he decided what exactly needed to be learned first, after a moment of this thinking he finally decided that the best option for first would be the lightning lizard jutsu he had been trying to sort out lately. It would be similar to his last jutsu but would have a smaller ranger but larger medium of travel; he could gather his chakra into his hand and then somehow manipulate the form to that of a lizard, from there he would force it out of his hand with some sort of connection so he could continue to control it until the jutsu landed on an enemy. The damage of course would be dependent on the amount of chakra he used and the exact spot on the enemy’s body he aimed for, but just to have a sense of perfection he decided to use roughly the same amount of chakra he used in his lightning bullet jutsu but have the charge be slightly less dense and have more of the shape of the lizard he desired.

“I think we should start with my Lightning Beast Running Technique, basically, its going to be similar to the Lightning Release: Lightning Bullet technique with some minor tweaks; for one you are going to have to change the density and form of the lightning charge, it’s going to need to take the form of a small lizard, roughly a foot and a half long. Also, instead of it only being a straight forward charge you are going to need to keep some sort of connection with it so that you can control it until it reaches the target. You got that?” The introduction was by no means brief, but they didn’t have the luxury of attempting the jutsu several times between them, they would need to get it quickly, so the more details Tatsuya ironed out the better. After the discussion was had the clone nodded in agreement, hopefully it would mean that he understood completely and they wouldn’t have to waste time doing trivial things like perfecting portions of the jutsu that Tatsuya himself already perfected in the past.

So, once the plan was laid out and both the clone and Tatsuya knew exactly what they were going to be attempting the pair began the physical part of their training. The mirror images stood in union and perfect order next to each other with fairly unique stances; the original stood with his feet slightly more than shoulder length apart and hunkered down a couple more inches which gave him the appearance of a defensive stance while the clone stood with his feet a little less than shoulder length apart and straightened up in what appeared to be more of an offensive stance. While the stance itself didn’t matter the slight differences shined through the near unison when the boys began pulling together their chakra. Like previously mentioned the two began the training as if they were performing the lightning bullet technique all the way until they held the individual charges in their hand. The snow around the two shined a beautifully light shade of blue as the lightning chakra danced on each boy’s fingertips while the raw electric power sent tingles up and down their arms. The feeling of pure chakra flowing was one of the few feelings Tatsuya could recognize as peaceful, granted if he made the wrong move or shifted his focus to something else he could severely damage himself, or his clone, no pressure.

As Tatsuya and his clone stood in their place the original gave a small shake of his head and a general look of depression came over his face, something just felt wrong, not with the jutsu or his clone, and certainly not with their current environment, no, a darker sense of dread began to pour over Tatsuya like a cup of ice water being poured on an unsuspecting person. For some reason a dark cloud presented itself over the young man’s optimistic perspective, his mental eye opened a sort of group of images that had not been there previously, and the contents of the images made him cringe. They were a sort of a landscape, but holding a small ounce of hope that was then blanketed in carnage, a single wilted rose stood in the middle of a dark area, it was dying, but from one corner of the image a small amount of sunlight was shining through. It took a moment to realize where he had the sensation once before but once he did he couldn’t help but reacting strongly, he had forgotten of that ability, had his proclamation been heard by someone? Was this their answer? No hope, no savior, no peace, the thought rocked the boy’s world, but the small glimmer of hope in the corner made his resolve to be the savior the person needed expand so much.

At least they thought of him enough to issue the challenge, they at least believed he would be able to succeed, or come close, that single thought helped keep Tatsuya from dropping to his knees and resorting back to the blubbering pile of emotions he was ten months previous. The resolve added fuel to the fire that was his determination, he would succeed in his training, he would become more powerful and he would continue until he was able to save his friends. “Did you feel that too?” The clone interrupted during Tatsuya’s prideful excretion of emotions and snapped him back to what he was doing. Apparently the clone got a similar sort of feeling, and the fact that he still had his sunny disposition only added to the amount of pride that the original was holding. “I think we can do this, yeah, the odds are stacked up against us… but I actually think we have a shot, as long as we are still alive and breathing we have a chance.” The clone spoke with great insight as he slowly morphed the lightning charge in his hand to that of a lizard, a familiar lizard no less, the lizard in the clone’s hand was the spot on image of what Aoiro appeared like when he and Tatsuya met after the destruction of the cloud.

It was something Tatsuya hadn’t thought about, yes he wanted a lizard, but the image itself didn’t seem important until he saw the clone’s lizard. It was a nice tribute to the loyal animal, it had stuck with him through thick and thin, and it always found a way to encourage the boy when it seemed like all his hope was gone. The animal had become some sort of patron saint for the Udai ninja, so Aoiro being present in many of Tatsuya’s jutsu only made sense. “Yeah, I got the images too, we really need to get this done in time, I don’t know if it will help at all but every ounce of power we have means the more of a chance we have to save our friends. You know?” Tatsuya himself spoke more maturely than what he remembered, the time in the tower had changed so much within him, but it was a defining change that needed to take place.

From his defensive stance Tatsuya began focusing deeply on the form of his lightning charge, he imagined the form of Aoiro when they had met in the destroyed Cloud Village Hospital; the lizard was much smaller, roughly a foot and a half long, and was rather slender in comparison to his new form, granted he was still proportional to his length, it was just the massive size itself. Anyway, as Tatsuya imagined more and more of the details of his companion the more and more the lightning charge changed into that of the lizard and within moments the small electrical creature seemingly began moving on its own, taking small calculated steps on the tips of his fingers, almost in unison with the clone’s lizard. Well that was one change they had down, only thing left was the connection they would need to sustain while the lizard darted towards the target.

With a small plan in mind Tatsuya focused more chakra into his hand, but placed it directly on the tip of the lightning lizard’s tail and the other end directly into his own palm. The tendril was short for the moment but if Tatsuya was correct about it, once the lizard left his hand the connection would continue on, getting longer and longer until it would be out of range and the commands would be muffled. As if on the same page the clone followed suit, leaving a thing tendril on the tip of his lightning lizard’s tail that extended to his palm. Once more in complete unison the pair moved elegantly while they tossed forward their jutsu, and once they did the tendrils that connected them to the steering wheel extended, pulling a little more chakra from their reserves, though it was seeming to work very well, they were able to guide the lightning lizards around the snow covered crag with enough precision to keep them from exploding before they were needing to. With all the major kinks of the jutsu ironed out fully the only thing left was to check the range of the lizards and just what they could do. As if on cue the clone guided his lizard as far straight as it would possibly go, and within seconds they had their answer. Once the tendril reached an even twenty feet the lizard snapped off and dissipated harmlessly over the rocks, so it would have to be aimed at someone in that small radius? It could be done.

Since the clone sacrificed his lizard for range Tatsuya began forcing his lightning lizard back around until it faced one of the large animals Tatsuya had hunted in the last couple months, granted they were all slowly decaying the damage the lizard inflicted sent whatever flesh was left on the bones sizzling off, from this Tatsuya assumed that it would do a similar amount of damage as what his gunshot could do, only over a slightly larger area. It would do perfectly.

(2016/2000 Lightning Running Lizard Technique B-Rank Learned)

The clone and original gave each other a small grin and nod in accomplishment; they succeeded in the more difficult jutsu, which meant the easier would be chump change in comparison. “Okay, now I need to get the lightning rod technique down. From what I remember all I need to do is charge one of my swords strongly then toss it into the air. If I’m right other lightning jutsu will be sucked into it, from there, it’s a complete mystery. The book I learned from didn’t go into much depth beyond, ‘be careful not to stand under it.’ So what we are going to do is I’m going to charge one of my swords up and you are going to perform a lightning jutsu. If it goes well the jutsu you use will be sucked up into the sword. Okay?” Tatsuya continued with his instructions towards the clone, he actually took enough care as to sound sincere and kind instead of a sort of tyrant ordering his subjects around. The clone nodded in agreement and once again took his stance of offence while Tatsuya moved roughly twenty feet away and withdrew one of his ninjato.

While the clone quickly charged up a quick lightning shot jutsu Tatsuya began pouring a chunk of his chakra into the blade, resulting in the blade’s discoloration and absorption of the raw electric power. The blade sent a familiar tingle into Tatsuya’s palm, it had been a rather long time since he used his swords, he had been focusing on more diplomatic reasoning and the training he was tasked with doing in the tower, as a result he neglected is first and easily his favorite style. Though he had learned that it was like riding a bike, you never forgot, at least he hoped it was that way; he would be in serious trouble if he lost the ability to use his strongest fighting style. Either way he couldn’t shift focus at all from the task at hand, if he dilly dallied he would be caught completely off guard by his clone. So to prevent the unusual from happening Tatsuya tossed his charged sword into the air and the clone released his gunshot, while it wasn’t aimed directly at Tatsuya it would pass into the radius of the sword. For a moment Tatsuya stared at the oncoming jutsu, waiting and hoping that his technique would work on the first try, even though anything rarely did. A second came and went but the lightning shot stayed on its course while the sword gave into gravity and fell uselessly to the ground.

He had done something incorrectly, it was a sad feeling; he honestly thought it would work like a charm, though he was at least happy he would be able to try once more. Instead of just pulling out yet another one of his swords Tatsuya chose to just retrieve the one that he tossed, that way he wouldn’t have to keep track of multiple swords if they fell. It was a good thing he did though, for once he found it he had a hard realization of what had happened, he had not charged it properly, he only put enough lightning chakra into it as to kick start the vibrating sword technique, which was nowhere near enough to suck up a strong lightning jutsu, much less any kind of lightning jutsu. In a quick motion he yanked the sword from its freshly cut hole in the stone and quickly retraced his steps back to his original position. Upon reaching his spot he immediately began gathering a larger chunk of his chakra and then forced it deep inside the sword. This time, it’s tingle was more intense and the glow it gave off had more of an ominous feel to it, Tatsuya was sure he had done it correctly, and as such he quickly tossed it high into the air aimed so that it would peak in between he and his clone.

Although he was not cued to launch another attack the clone did not skip a beat, as soon as the frightening glow filled the area the clone began charging his own jutsu. He felt the cool tingle of his lightning charge twinge his fingertips, leaving small char marks from where it had been dancing previously, and in a quick motion he released the charge. As it sailed towards Tatsuya the boy grinned with confidence, he knew he had gotten it correct, it might not have been the first try but he was more than certain that this attempt would be it. The sword spun in the air, continually heading upwards until the gravity finally conquered it and forced it to begin its descent to the ground, though by the time that had happened the lightning charge entered the sword’s radius. Then the charge floated upwards, right on cue. It continued its ascent until it collided powerfully with the sword’s electricity, quickly combining and exerting an even larger glow around the blade. It seemed to dance magnificently in the air while the sword was stopped in its decline; it halted but kept spinning, as if the point was deciding what it was going to do next. Then almost as quick as the fusion had happened the sword stopped, the point of the blade pointing straight at Tatsuya’s clone, and it froze. Time seemed to stand still while Tatsuya and the clone tried to process what was about to happen.

Bad choice on the clone’s part, the combined electricity shot out from the tip of the sword and collided dead in the center of the clone’s chest, exploding him immediately. Tatsuya though was left unharmed, but even more importantly he was filled with a new brim of confidence, not only was he able to complete his designated training in time, but he was also able to add several key techniques to his arsenal that would be very useful in the upcoming battle. Excitement, pure excitement was plastered all over the young man’s expression.
