User Image Ventrau wandered idly next to a tide pool, pawing at the sand in a bored manner every now and then. His usual pastime of watching the other wolves wasn't an option right now, considering he had essentially been kicked out to go explore and be more active like the other adolescents. He peered into the water at his reflection - the least remarkable wolf in the whole pack. Some members hardly even knew he existed. This wasn't something he was resentful of, it was just another fact of life in the pack that he had filed into his mind.

But now? Now he wasn't a pup anymore, he was expected to grow up and be more useful. He was expected to hunt, scout, mate, all the things other wolves do in their lives. He just... wasn't much of an initiator. He began walking around the tide pool again and tried to remember what exactly it was he was supposed to be doing... was he told to bring something back? Or was he just scouting (whatever that meant)?

User ImageDinah moved along the sand like a crab would, side ways. In fact, she was following a whole bunch of small crabs, over rocks, heading toward the water. If she had hands, she would hold them in the air and do a crab claw imitation. Yes, she was an adolescent, but mentally, still very much a puppy. Wiggling her rump, she had to stop. It was hard, and her legs were hurting her! Panting, the blue tinted wolfess looked for a pool of fresh water to drink of. That meant, she wandered a way from the beach a little ways, found the spot, drank, and went back to the beach yet again.

This time, however, she paused and arched a brow. There was a wolf, about as old as her, if not older, circling tide pools. Interesting. She certainly hadn't seen him before, but she didn't smell outsiders. Maybe he was a newer wolf, just shy so she hadn't seen him before? Being the daughter of both Alpha's, Dinah thought she knew everyone in the pack.

So, she moved forward and let out a little yip of greeting. "Hello over there!"

Ventrau had just been on the verge of remembering, or making up, what he was supposed to be doing when a voice disturbed his focus. He looked up at the sound of a familiar yip to see the pretty daughter of the alphas of his own pack. He hadn't ever formally introduced himself or been introduced to many of his peers, not even being in close terms with his siblings, so he wasn't surprised that she didn't seem to know him. He bobbed his head to acknowledge Dinah and, ears forward, moved closer.

"Hello, I'm Ventrau." He said, sitting down in front of Dinah

Pretty? Hardly. Dinah was the ordinary one in her beautiful family. It was a surprise she got none of her father's black on her! Her eyes focused on his before grinning at him. Ventrau? She hadn't heard of him! She let out a whine at that and then shook her head. "Dinah." She didn't know if he knew her or not! So, introducing ones self was just the thing to do. Her tail flicked as she sat down at a comfortable distance from him and thumped against the sand, kicking it up once again.

"I... haven't seen you here before. But you smell familiar..." How could that be? She was so confused!

He cocked his head, bemused by her apparent confusion in the situation. Ventrau let out a little chuff of a chuckle. He tail wagged, though it was tame in comparison to the enthusiasm of his new acquaintance. "I know, you're a daughter of Eva and Wall-e." His wolfy smile was almost mysterious but not dark at all. "I'm a son of Ronon and Faith." He blinked calmly, expecting the surprise that was sure to come after realizing that he had been a part of the pack this whole time.

"Don't worry, you're not rude. I don't really get out much and when I do... well, I'm just not very noticeable." He shrugged, unable to really explain it without sounding like complaining. There were so many big personalities in the pack, it was normal for him to be the wallflower that watches and waits to be invited. It didn't bother him, it was just how he was.

Surprise indeed did come! Her face colored and stained as she blushed with embarrassment and her eyes darted to her paws before she drooped her ears a little. "Sorry... I... I don't get out much," she explained slowly and carefully. It's not that she had to watch her words, it's that she was going to tumble over them if she didn't think and speak slowly. Dinah honestly didn't get out of her head often, so she was easily embarrassed when someone presented themselves to have lived in the pack their whole lives and she didn't know.

The playful side was coming back now that she trusted him as a fellow pack member. No one would hurt the daughter of both Alpha's. That would be stupid! So a grin came to her face and a giggle in her throat. "It's OK. I'm not noticeable compared to my siblings. So if you ever want to be un-invisible, come seek me out. We can play!" With that, she laughed full force and tapped him on his chest.

"You're it!" That's all the warning he would get before she darted in a game of tag.
