((Locale: Lucky Island forest)) "Not again..." 1622 muttered hoarsely. She took ahold of Gaillard. "Hold still. We'll fix this, as usual." It hurt to talk, but she needed to say _something_ to let the Sawsbuck know she was on the case. She reached up and started to work his antlers free from the brush he'd gotten them caught in. She was so absorbed in the work that she didn't notice anyone approaching - something she'd usually have avoided. Her thick black hair obscured her view of anything but what she was working on.

Koorie, as she walked through the trees, gave a grunt of frustration. She had heard that there was a supposed report of a swarm of Pokemon somewhere in this mass of wilderness. Instead, all she'd found so far were bug bites, underbrush, trees and more trees. So, when the sound of some rather violent rustling sounded from up ahead, the trainer froze for a moment, her ruby red eyes narrowing into slits.
Slowly, being sure to make as little noise as possible, she reached to her belt and pulled free a pokeball as she crept through the undergrowth, ready to take advantage of the first bit of action she'd seen all that trip.

1622 gave one last grunt as she pried the final tine free. Gaillard shook his head appreciatively and rubbed her tattered shirt with his nose. A near-silent laugh and 1622 rubbed him back. Moments later, she caught a glimpse of some of the brush moving the wrong direction from the wind. It made her nervous, but she was curious enough to stand her ground. Gaillard leaned sideways, trying to catch the scent.

It didn't take a moron to recognize another trainer with their pokemon was the source of the rustling of the bush, and with a scowl decorating her face Koorie exited the dense brush into clear view. Of course, she looked nowhere close to the usually attractive self that she was; dirt was smeared on her pretty face, scratches covered her arms and legs from branches, and foliage stuck to her clothes and protruded from her curling blue hair.
"What a let down..." She said coldly, glaring at the other girl.

The sound of another voice startled the heck out of 1622. She jumped backwards about three or four feet.
"Uh..." she hesitated. She had no idea what to say, especially when the look on the other trainer's face was so obviously unfriendly. She couldn't help but notice, however, that the other girl's eyes were much the same color as hers. She supposed it didn't matter at the moment. What mattered was that she didn't know what to say, and even if she did her voice would never come out properly again. Gaillard sensed her distress and kind of glared at the trainer. "It's okay," 1622 whispered to him, "but thank you."

The cold stare flickered from 1622 to the Sawsbuck next to her, and the blue haired beauty gave a snort. This was nothing but a total and complete let down, and she wasn't about to start making friends.
However....
After a pause for thought, Koorie's ruby eyes returned their stare back to the other female. It was more than evident that she was judging the other human up before she spoke. "I'm assuming that you haven't seen any swarms going through here lately..."

The word 'swarms' made her think of Beedrill, and she shivered for just a moment before pulling out a notebook and scribbling furiously. One could almost see the pencil smoking by the time she was done, but when she turned it around it showed a reasonably-drawn map of the last group of Pokemon she'd seen in the area. She almost felt as if she were betraying them, though, and on a second thought she wrote one more thing. "May I see one of yours?" it said. 1622 felt that if she could see whether the trainers' pokemon were happy, she would be far less concerned about the fate of those she would giving away when she handed over the map.
