Phin Phang reopens tomorrow.
Please tell us your discoveries, opinions, thoughts about the changes to the store and booty grab. (I'm looking for feedback on what changes you have noticed.)

Phin Phang Opens Tomorrow
We're planning to reopen Phin Phang tomorrow; there will be many changes, such as fish for gold, the return of some popular fish to the store, and substantial changes to BG.

NOPE - It's open for real now. I think I like the changes overall but still much to digest to see plus I don't know all the stats yet.

They're not.
And you would be wasting your time.
I'm not down on your wish; just saying it isn't worth your energy and trying to stir up a lot of hate and discontent. Panagrammic has stated dolphins granted too much gold and Gaia will not release another fish like the dolphin.

If Gaia releases another dolphin or brings back the Irwadiddy it will be a watered down version. My guess is if they give us a decent booty grab fish it will have a completely different name / shape to minimize the comparisons.
Of course, that is just speculation. We will see what we see.

Yesterday I noticed my worst glow ever, 4/17. Everything in the tank triggers except 1 Easter egg. I wish it was a fluke but once I posted the incident, others confirmed stats even worse than mine, 2/17 eek ? It's no mistake; some have screen shots. My last glow finished about 30min ago. It began with 12/17 glowing and ended with 4/17 glowing. I'm almost certain the glow number decrease is related to the number of players. That game ended with 20/34. Frankly, if this is intentional, and I believe it is, I'm done with aquariums. It's not worth all the time and effort I expend to work and maintain it. Under the circumstances I could care less if the shop ever opens.

They are probably testing some payout curves.
Panagrammic IS trying to make tanks pay for owners. I choose to be patient for a bit before I decide.

I was also very encouraged by Panagrammic's comments in
THIS POST acknowledging tank owners should earn more for their dollar because of the extra risk / effort / time involved in owning a tank.

"Haven't set the actual pricing levels yet, but yeah, assume you can get 100k / $1 in the market. Pretty obviously then you should be making substantially more than 100k / $1 for fish, because a) there's risk (if you don't get plays, you lose) and b) there's a time-value money equation going on there, and c) there's some level of effort that needs to be put into the tank (you need to put nn hours per week into the tank or you lose)."

Dolphins are back... but monster strike packs are gone. I'm really annoyed about this, as there was ZERO warning, which would have been nice for those of us with monster tanks. stare

Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't noticed they were gone.
I wonder if they are reconfiguring them. I've seen folks asking to have the strike packs removed and the individual fish sold. Or ... some other method that allows users to purchase the 'good' fish in a strike pack with some knowledge they will actually get one - instead of opening a ton of strike packs.

I'd be surprised if they take those fish away permanently. I expect those fill will come back - either in strike pack or direct sale. We'll see I guess.
