This pole is incomplete. Each clan is based off of certain vampire legends or mythos of earth, or just creatures that have been associated with darkness. The Moximoff clan is based off the legends of the Romainian Strigoi and european Nosferatu.
The Erubus Clan is based off of the greek/Roman Keres, and Empusa.
The Bacchea are based off of the Bacchae from the TV mythos of Xena and Hercules.
There are more families than listed here. As more legends of vampires are studdied, more will be availible. However, the Maximoff clan makes up the majority of the nation. Keep that in mind.
