Once again rolling her eyes at the boy she finished her meal off and walked out. The man she was to be protecting was some where around here. Vesta had already ran into him seen he was ok then went to grab food. Walking around down town she spotted her target. "Well there he is." She said softly to herself. ~ ~ ~ ~
Epona slowly, still holding the knife tight in her hand, made her way over and sat down. "Your world?" She asked looking him over. "Do all the people of your world dress like homeless people? And why do I need to be protected? I'm not important. I don't do any thing dangerous either."

Zoruuth looked up when his locator said that his target was literally right in front of him, only to be bumped into by a girl slightly shoter than him. "What the- Oh, it's alright. Don't worry 'bout it.", he replied when she apologized for bumbing into him. The boy looked back at his watch. Yup, it was her. With that confirmed, Zoruuth put his hand over it again and gave it yet another spark of magic, turning it back to a normal watch before chasing after the woman. Something caught his eye as he came into the police station after his target. A cell phone, which he assumed was the woman's. Perfect. He ran up to the woman after picking up the phone, putting on his teen-boy act. "Uh, miss. I think you dropped this.", he said with a friendly smile as he handed the phone to the woman. He leaned against the desk and looked around a bit before looking back at the woman. "What're you doin' in the station? Did something happen?" Well, duh, something happened. She wouldn't have ran in if she ran over to the desk if she just broke a nail or something.

"Huh what?" Melanie turned to see the man with a hint of panic, "Oh thank you." She quickly pocketed the phone, hands still shaking and shook her head, "No, I'm okay, everything's fine. Really. Thank you for you concern, but I'm just going to let the police handle it." She turned back to the woman at the front desk, who seemed a bit disinterested in her story, "Can you get an officer any faster? I told you, this guy knew my name and I had never met him before! He threatened to kill me dammit!"
---
"Homeless people?" Roderick looked down at his own attire and cocked an eyebrow, "Who looks like a homeless person?" He shook his head, "Nevermind, I'm not exactly sure why any of those being protected are significant, either you will be of importance or you might, I'm not sure, give birth to him or her some day. I wasn't given specifics."

"I hate kids." Epona said dryly. Scooting around in her chair she sighed. "Listen I don't know if I should believe you or not, but what kind of danger should I be worried about?" The knife was beginning to feel kind of heavy. How did people carry around weapons like this all the time? "I mean should I be really worried? And I find it hard to believe some one would seriously be after me."

Zoruuth nodded and continued to lean against the desk. His smile melted into thin straight line when the woman said that she had had an encounter with a man that had known her and threatened to kill her. He furrowed his brow. Could it possibly be one of those- No, Zoruuth wasn't going to rush to any conclusions. Merely ask a few questions until he was sure. "Threaten to kill you? Did you slap the guy, or something? And that's a little creepy that he knew you... Could it be an old ex-boyfriend, or something?", he asked the woman, ignoring her when she said that everything was fine and subtly told him to go away. At least it seemed like, but he ignored it all the same. He pretended to be some concerned citizen willing to help. "If it's what I think it is, I know someone that could help. Maybe the lady will hurry up if you tell her what exactly happened?", Zoruuth didn't want to seem the one questioning her, merely one to help. He would liste in on her encounter and from there he would take the appropiate form of action.
Luke Logan was happily waling out of his high school after a nice lazy day of doing nothing all day. Not even his American History teach, Mr. Moro, could keep him from putting his head down in class and napping the class away. He liked Mr. Moro, but someimes the boy was just too tired to listen. And now, after having napped through all of his classes (He didn't have a Gym class due to being enrolled in Marching Band), he was well refreshed and ready to go home and be even more lazy. He was still surprisingly fit from the passed Marching Band season, which ended in mid-October, much to Luke's approval. He didn't feel like being a lazy, fat lard when he could be a lazy twig instead. Luke pushed his glasses farther up on his nose as he removed his backpack and slung it on his opposite shoulder. It was starting hurt to carry it for so long, now that he was a good distance away from the school. He spotted a small group of his friends and raced over to happily converse with them. There seemed to be a couple kids in the group that Luke didn't know, but that was fine. Luke wasn't the type to feel awkward around new people. Only when he didn't know ANYONE around him did he feel wierd about being around them. None the less, Luke ran up and started to cheerily talk to his friends about usual boy stuff. Girls, games, girls, more games, school stuff, more girls. There usual.

"I'm sorry, but I think I would know if I had dated the guy before." Melanie was a bit offended by the onslaught of questions from the man beside her, "I don't need help for your friends, I need help from the police. Thank you sir, good day." She turned back, a bit exasperated, to the woman at the desk, "Is someone going to see me today?" She sighed and turned impatiently to look out the glass doors and gasped, dropping to the floor, "Oh my god!"
---
Roderick shrugged, "You just have to choose to believe me, and let me follow you around when you go to work and all of that nonsense. We're not sure what all they know about you. They might not know anything, but they could know everything. So it's best we take all necessary precautions."

Amud walked through the school, a bright white "Visitor" Sticker glued to his pin stripped jacket. His target was some where round this place, sadly it was full of people close to matching the description he had been given. Spotting yet another kid with glasses he advanced, only to see they were not a boy, merely a girl with short hair and a flat chest. After a few minutes he spotted his target, this time he was sure it was the right kid. Walking forward he thought of just snatching the kid out if his group of friends. But he didn't want to scare him. Peeling the sticker off, he decided to play teacher. "Luke." He said walking. ~ ~ ~ ~
"You have to follow me?!" Epona was ready to kill the man an make a run for it. No one would know he was missing. He looked like he was just some hobo off the street. And he talked like a crazy person. "There has to be some mix up." She said still not ready to believe any thing he was saying. Like hell her work would let him just follow her all day.

Zoruuth frowned when she tried to get him to leave, but h stayed where he was. He rushed to her side, crouching slightly, when Melanie seemed to freak out a bit over something. He was about to ask her what was wrong when he looked off in the direction she was looking to see a man staring at her through the glass. "This your guy?", Zoruuth asked as he stepped out in front of her slightly. "If it is, then get back. Now."
Luke was talking to a friend about one of his crushes when some random dude came up and called his name. "Uh, I'll be right back.", he said before he ment the man half-way. "Yeah? Did I do something, mister?", he asked as he played around with his hair. He had had some issues that morning getting it to stay the way he wanted, and he was still having trouble with it.

It was cold in the abandoned apartment Copper had come to call home. He sat on the worn kitchen counter, leaning against the wall next to a window. Rain pattered against the glass, and condensation gathered heavily on the inside. Copper ran his finger along the wet surface, making a smiley face that quickly distorted into something less recognizable as the drops ran down. He sighed, his breath slightly visible, and softly hopped down from the counter onto the bare wooden floors, still with bits of ragged carpet attached. He walked over to the dirty refrigerator and opened opened the door, leaning on it as he scanned it's contents. There was no power running to it, but it still served to store food. It was cold enough in the place, besides. The fridge was a pathetic sight. A half empty box of crackers stood as the height of cuisine, accompanied by an empty whipped cream canister and wilted head of lettuce. With an even heavier sigh, he took the crackers and shut the door. He made a mental note that getting more food would be the priority today. Walking back to the window munching on the crackers, he cleared it with his sleeve. His designated man to protect was still asleep, but would no doubt be getting up to go to work soon. He felt strange stalking someone like this, but he kept telling himself it wasn't for a suspicious end. Sure the oracles had been vague, but he only hoped that they were just in cause. It's all he had to go on. At first he had been reluctant to come back, afraid of what he might see. Everyone he had known was dead, but that fact he had assumed and come to grips with during his time in Faerie. His biggest surprise was how little things had advanced. Sure medicine was reliable, and many great technological advances had been made, but generally the scheme of things was the same. No mystery science theater stuff going on, no aliens or flying cars. He laughed at the thought. All that supposed future earth stuff didn't seem so impossible or amazing anymore after the things he had seen and been thorough. Dusting the cracker crumbs off his hands, Copper threw the box in the metal trash can he had dragged in from the alleyway. He found a lot of useful things in the alleyway, come to think of it. The mattress he had found was fairly clean, that served as his bed. He also found a wooden chair, and multiple boxes of books that now lay in the corner waiting to be read. He had found a lamp as well, but it served little purpose what with the lack of electricity. Figuring there was a good hour before his assigned person was up and around, and sensing no danger Copper flopped onto the mattress. Eyes closed, he lay listening to the rain, and the steady drip of water from the leak in the ceiling. He he couldn't help but laugh softly to himself and the situation he had come to find himself in, as he turned over to face the wall. A soft nudge woke him as he found himself beginning to drift away. He opened his eyes to find a feline face rubbing against his shoulder. Smiling, he stroked the cat down and off the tip of it's tail. “Hello to you too Ella.” The cat meowed in response. He had taken in the cat having found her stray, and named her after his only girlfriend, whom he was with when he was taken into Faerie. The cat purred and began wander the room, meowing. “I know. You're hungry, aren't you. I am too. I'll get some more food today.” He got up from the matress, and Ella ran to rub against his leg thinking food was coming. Instead he went to the window, to find Eric's apartment window open, and the man moving about inside. Yes, that was the name of his designated human. Eric Volstrup, age twenty-nine, and worked as a quality inspector at a local dairy company. About as generic of a middle aged single american as could be, and this is who the oracles had given him to watch over. He couldn't help but sigh yet again. He seemed to do a lot of that recently. “Well,” Copper said to Ella, “Time to get the day started.” He went to the closet, which was no longer enclosed due to the lack of walls, and pulled the string leading to the attic of the building. Hoisting himself up, he grabbed a green canvas bag hanging on a nail, and looked back down at Ella once inside. “Stay put, cat. I'll be back in a while.” He picked his way across the beams in the attic and over to a hole that led to a seperate apartment, this one had an open window that led to a fire escape. He used this route exclusively, as the front door to his apartment was barred with wood nailed from the outside. Once on the bottom of the fire escape, he made sure no one was around before dropping the fifteen foot fall to the concrete. He got up, unharmed. He had found out the hard way that this was one of the many gifts his altered form had. His bicycle was hidden behind a stack of empty pallets, and he hopped on, pedaling into the rain on his daily runs around the cities dumpsters in search of supplies.

"No no, crazy guy from an old job, used to stalk me. Real weirdo." Melanie stood and brushed herself off, "Sorry about that." She sighed, "And what the hell are you going to do if some psychopath is trying to kill me? Are you a cop? Because if so, you're needed at the front desk." She turned back to the empty chair where a woman had been sitting before, "Good I hope she went to get me someone."
---
"Generally, and this is just everyone ever's experience, but generally, there are no mix-ups, not with oracles. So, when you're done with you're disbelief and all of that great attitude, I'm willing to talk. And until then, I will be raiding your refrigerator, savvy?"

Amud kept a stern face on to make the kid think he was in some sort of trouble. "Yes we have a problem." He reached for the boy's arm. "And you need to come with me to the office right now." ~ ~ ~ ~
Epona sat there a few moments longer. The man was going to be disappointed, her refrigerator had been empty for a few days now. She just hadn't gotten around to shopping. Getting up she followed him to the kitchen. "Why do they want you to watch me?"

Zoruuth looked at the girl with a slight glare. She really had to freak out that much over something so minor? "I'm off-duty, but yeah, I am of some authority. I guess I should've mentioned that before..." he said with a shrug, then turned around to face the girl and cross his arms. "As to what I'll do, I'll listen to you for now. Then we'll see what to do next. That being said, what did this guy look like? I'm not on duty, so I'll do whatever I can now 'till they call me in."
Luke frowned. "It's almost the end of the year, dude. Finals are a week away. Can you just lemme go home and study so I can have a future?", he tried to get out whatever trouble he was about to get in, making it look like he was an honest, hard-working student.

"Well then, I take it you'll have no problems walking me to my office. As I have to be there, and I don't need any creepers attacking me along the way, now, do I?" Melanie grabbed the man claiming to be an figure of authority and marched out, dragging him along behind her."I'll be safe once I'm in the building I'm sure, but I can't trust these streets. I mean, normally I could," she rambled at quite an impressive speed, "but not when something crazy happens. I mean you remember last week where down the street there was all of this weird s**t happening? I skipped work like three days because I'm like 'Yeah I'm not gonna get caught up in all of that, you know?' Who needs it? Honestly. This city gets bigger every hour, and more of an enigma, too."
---
Roderick's mouth was full at the time she asked the question, so it took him a moment to respond, he swallowed hard and replied, "I told you I don't know. You or someone you'll know or have or come into contact with eventually is going to be crucial to your world. I don't know anything about it really, I'm just the muscle." He took another bit out of the apple he had found in the refrigerator and decided to remind the girl that it was empty, "Looks like you need to hit up the marketplace, just an fyi."
---
Outside of the small apartment, despite how high up it was, stood a woman beside the window. A small piece of scratch paper in hand with the address scribbled on it. The woman a the window was tall, shapely, and had blonde hair that seemed almost too long to be real. It was whipping wildly around her in the wind at that height, but her focus was on the girl that she could see inside the building. She was talking to someone, that probably wasn't good, but Tabitha couldn't quite see who. She tried to lean forward a bit, but had to make sure she was not seen.
