Name Aemilio Sartorius
Gender Male
Age 26
Species Unicorn
Occupation Circo Nelle Stelle Animal Tamer

Appearance
Aemilio is fairly confident about his looks, and with good reason. As one would expect from what he is, he’s a fairly enchanting looking man, having handsome features, though not going too far on the side of feminine. His skin has a slight tan to it, contrasting slightly with his pale blonde hair. His hair is long, reaching about to the bottom of his shoulder blades so he normally just keeps it held back in a sloppy ponytail. He stands just a few inches short of six feet and boasts a somewhat slender body. Aemilio has some slight muscle definition to him, but it’s not really enough to become obvious. His ears are equine in shape, and match the soft blonde color of his hair. Extending from the base of his spine is a slender tail, with a long puff of hair at the end of it. He has a large, somewhat circular scar on his forehead, where a small, spiral horn used to be placed.

His secondary form isn't really seen, and many aren't even aware that he has it. He is somewhat equine in shape, though his body is more slender like that of a deer. To the shoulder, he stands a little under five feet, or about the height of a small horse. His hooves, like that of a deer, are cloven, meaning his hooves are split into two toes. Aemilio's body is covered in fine, short, pale blonde hair, except for the hair on the back of his legs, which is a bit longer. He also has a longer patch of hair on his chin, which matches in color to his mane, which is a slightly darker blonde.

Personality
Aemilio tries his hardest to be a suave, dashing ladies’ man, but to be honest he tends to fail at this. Generally he blames the fact that his ears and tails might just be a turn off to some ladies, but this is more of him being in denial that he has a bad habit of foot in mouth disease. He’ll start off good, definitely, but then he’ll offhandedly make a remark that he didn’t really process that well, and it usually ends up bad. Ignoring his horrible flirtation tactics though, Aemilio is a rather upbeat, friendly guy. He’s known to randomly pull someone into a dance, with or without music, and just in general make sure that everyone is in as good of a mood as he usually is. He doesn’t try to hide the very large scar on his forehead, instead he claims that it’s a “great conversation starter”. He’s a fairly confident man, easily able to laugh at himself or any of the reckless things that he tends to do. There are a good number of things that he is serious about those, and a handful of things out of that the man is truly passionate about. He won’t hesitate to talk you into the ground if you bring up one of these things, either, especially if you disagree with him on the subject.

Abilities
Because he is missing his horn, Aemilio's powers are not up to par with other members of his species. He does not have the immortality that a unicorn would normally possess, though more than likely he will outlive most humans. He has a small amount of healing magic, though he cannot heal fatal wounds. Aemilio also as an amazing immune system, being immune to any poison and nearly all diseases.

Aemilio also has the ability to communicate with animals, which is how he performs his act. He never uses whips or restraints, but instead just speaks to the animals and offers them treats. It seems to work out well for him though.

Weaknesses
Aside from his claimed weakness for the ladies, Aemilio is actually a pretty horrible fighter. Because he no longer has his horn, his magical abilities are severely limited, and really only boil down to his healing magic. He's not really physically strong either, so in fisty-cuffs he's a little useless. He does make up for this by being quick on his feet. For these reasons, Aemilio tries his best to stay out of conflicts with people, or tries to use his words to get him out of trouble.

Too bad he has a habit of not thinking his words all the way through sometimes. He's also fairly impulsive, acting on an idea before even really considering what consequences might arise from it. Which is the main reason he lost his horn in the first place.

Backstory

To begin, Aemilio would first like to make things perfectly clear and state that he did not spend his childhood frolicking through the forest like some fairytale whimsical ninny. He grew up working on a farm. This was hard, and not at all whimsical. Aemilio’s father was a farmer for the local town, growing produce and taking them to the market every week. His mother was a healer, though was beginning to lose business with the ever increasing rise of modern medicine. Aemilio had an older sister, though by the time that he was born, she had already moved out and wedded.

Throughout his childhood, Aemilio’s family often had trouble with poachers. They sought out the family so that they could harvest their horns, and other body parts, to be used as magical amplifiers. However, they were always unsuccessful, as whenever they would try, they were met with powerful magic and spells that would send them running. Aemilio’s parents always warned him to take the threats from the hunters seriously. He never did though, since it seemed so easy to run them off. The child even began to find it entertaining how hard they tried, only to be met with failure.

Aemilio was about eleven years old when he left his parents’ home. It wasn’t by anyone’s preference really, but with her mother’s business lacking so much, his parents decided that the best course of action would be to set Aemilio up with an apprenticeship, so that at the least he could go out into the world and learn a new trade. He went under the care of an animal trainer, which seemed like a perfect task for the young unicorn, since he could already communicate with animals. His master was fairly infamous throughout, known for training horses and other varieties of animals for performances and military purposes.

It was the performance animals that caught Aemilio’s interest the most, however. He couldn’t care less about the military horses and police dogs; he wanted to work with the performing animals. Magician’s tigers, show horses, circus bears, he loved working with them all. It was when he had to take a couple of tigers back to their owner at the nearby circus that he knew exactly what he wanted to do. It took the boy forever to get permission from both his master and the circus’s ringmaster, but soon enough he had been employed by the circus, even if it was just as the animal tamer’s assistant.

It was something, still, and Aemilio had an absolute blast with the circus. The young unicorn could have asked for a better experience. Over time though, he began to grow curious about one particular act. It featured the Ringmaster himself and a shape shifter, though none of the other troupe members had ever seen the shape shifter. Aemilio took it upon himself to search for the ever elusive shape shifter, and figure out why it was so mysterious. When he wasn’t helping the head animal tamer or doing this various chores around the circus, he was searching, looking for where ever it might have been hidden away.

Once he did find the shape shifter, however, he was completely mortified. The condition she was kept in was shoddy at best. A small enclosed area with numerous locks and blockades to it, nothing was very clean or sanitary, and it just looked like a horrible place to be kept. The poor girl was being kept worse than the animals. Aemilio did the only thing he thought to be right. He broke open the cage she was kept in and while the rest of the troupe was asleep, he helped her escape to a convent a few towns away. By the time he had returned, the ringmaster had discovered that the shape shifter was missing and did not seem happy.

The entire troupe was wide awake, wondering just what their ringmaster was in such a fuss about. Aemilio called the man out on his abuse, however. Describing the conditions that the shape shifter was in and how he had freed her. The rest of the troupe seemed so disgusted with the Ringmaster’s actions that they quit, leaving Cirque du Gothique. Aemilio himself had been the first to quit, though before he himself left the circus, he had to make sure that the animals were all going to be taken care of.

Aemilio was packing up his belongings to leave when the ringmaster approached him. There was another argument, like the many more that had occurred previously. The argument had escalated, and the end product was the ringmaster tearing off the poor unicorn’s horn. Aemilio managed to get out of the circus, albeit he was in an intense amount of pain.

It was after sometime on his own that Aemilio discovered that without his horn, he now lacked immortality and most of his magical abilities. He didn’t seem to let that get him too down, though. He went through the next ten years, going from job to job, usually performance jobs, getting together the money he needed to live by. While on the ever prevalent job hunt, Aemilio noticed a new circus that had an opening for an animal tamer. The unicorn man jumped at the chance and has happily been there since.

Facts

Aemilio has a slight accent. If it was compared to anything, his accent would probably seem like it has a bit of a Spanish flair to it.

Because of his immunity to poisons, Aemilio cannot get drunk. At all. He's often won many bets by drinking people under the table quite easily.

Aemilio has this strange ability to look at a person and tell whether or not they're a virgin. Yes this has gotten him in trouble. Yes, many times before.

Aemilio has a hilarious little quirk that he is absolutely ashamed of. When he starts laughing to much, he can accidently let out a horse like whinny. Even more embarrassing is the fact that it sounds like a colt, and not an actual grown horse.
