Ok everyone, the biggest problem I see in alot of guilds with new members, is that once people join they don't make a character in order to start RPing. You need to create someone to use in this guild, otherwise nothing short of generous donations will keep you from getting the boot.
Sometimes it is hard to think up an original creative character. That is understandable. If you continue to be inactive without a character however, you will be kicked out. This is why we give you an understandable amount of time to create your character, a sort of buffer time for development. If you still have troubles, you might notice a few suggestions that I may even repeat throughout the guild.
1. Look at other profiles, check out the variety and see what hasn't been done. 2. If you read other's posts and you spot an interesting sub-character they have made, perhaps you could ask to see if you could make him/her your character 3. If Someone in this guild is inactive or otherwise kicked out, we will be giving away their profiles to those who are willing to RP and cannot create a character. These will be the RPC's that have the Gaia Username highlighted in RED in the Prologues thread. If you find one that you like, PM a member of crew or above and ask to use it. They will then change the highlight to GREEN and it will no longer be up for grabs. 4. In the OOC area there is a forum for people who like to make profiles, but do not wish to use them. You can take one of these from the Orphanage thread and make it your own THATS WHAT ITS THERE FOR. We will then move it to the Prologue (accepted profiles) section, and you can start your role playing.

If you want to create an interesting character, I have some tips that may help. Look at the areas that are available. A Thieves Haven. You can make a thief. Gallow's Sea. You can be a pirate. There's a lot of land. Be an explorer. There are towns. Be a civilian.
Grab a friend (or several) and make a character that coinsides with theirs. Make a family. A pirate crew. A secret organization. A gang. A business.
Make a character that has the ability to develop. Put a few skeletons in their closet. Give them one or two deep dark secrets. Make their past dark. You could even try a mental or physical disorder and/or handicap. The whole point is to make a personal conflict.
Don't limit yourself to the types of dengen available. If you read about a superpower or ability somewhere, suggest it as a dengen.
Don't be afraid to try different personalities. Not everyone has to be brazen and bold. Make them a bit more quiet. But be sure to make it interesting. Say, if they're quiet and brooding it's because they're extremely intelligent and planning their next attack. If they blend into the shadows it's because they're a spy. You can make them quirky.
Stereotypes are the enemy. If you play a girl, she can be either girly or tough. Or both. If you're a pirate, you can have a soft spot. Be a generous merchant. Or a nobleman with horribly cheap tastes.
Most importantly: Don't be afraid of going outside the box. Be outlandish. This is a fantasy guild. Talking to dragons and hob-nobbin it with demons isn't as strange here as it would be in other RPs. If you're still stuck, I could probably pull more tips out of my head. As of right now, those are the only ones I could think of.

Locations to begin...
Sometimes you may find that your RPC is fully created, yet you can't seem to find a good place to start your journey. Here are some tips to help remedy the situation.
1. What is your character's job? Often if your character has a job, then they can find a place that is perfect for them to begin. If your RPC is a thief then Thieves Haven is the place to go. If they are a pirate, Gallows Sea or Givings Ocean are always open for some plundering. If they are a merchant, find a good town for travelers.
2. If you cant do the first, try this. Simply look at each area in the RP area, read their descriptions and find one you like. It's awfully simple really.
3. Character, bad or good. If you have a character that if evil, find a place that would be filled with thugs or goons, or more creatively... nice people. If they are a hero, find them someone to save.
4. If all else fails, you can always go to the scribe thread on the front page, and suggest a new area to make. Who knows, your idea could become the next role playing hot spot.
