[PRP] Mortal Enemies [Naomi, Chemosh, Karloff]

The sun was slowly starting to set for the night; the eery glow of the sun on the land was oddly comforting. The air was still and was slowly getting colder and colder. Naomi shivered as she watched the sunset from the edge of the plains, walking slowly towards the shelter of the forest. It seemed like the day would end with nothing out of the ordinary and Naomi was quite grateful for that; her body wasn't able to handle too much stress.

She had been walking across the plains throughout the day, wondering where she would go next; it seemed like her legs would take her wherever something would happen, whether the incident be good or bad. A soft sigh of relief escaped her as she was going to sit down under a tree and rest her tired eyes. "I am so glad today was peaceful," she thought to herself.

Naomi leaned her head against the tree beside her and continued to watch the sun disappear.

Chemosh was on his usual route through the twisted woods of the area, preying on small furry things and the occasional feathered one. But they never QUITE sated his appetite for something a little sweeter, more refined. Women were always a good source of this, though most of them tended to be too...bland for his tastes, there were simply no interesting things anymore, tasty or otherwise. Mares were just fun to play with and tickled his fancy for manipulation and exercised his slippery charm.

He slipped through the shadows as if he were made of them, his tail flickering about behind him as he weaved along, watching with narrowed ivory eyes as the sun sank into the horizon, a pleased smirk spread across his disturbingly wide maw and the sun's last rays caught the deadly glitter of his fangs. The darkness was something he, of course, enjoyed very verrrry much.

He had thought the day's entertainment over when suddenly he heard something, very slight, but definite...a voice, in fact, a FEMALE voice.
Perhaps this day would not be so plain afterall! He soon spotted her, how could he not? with her sunny pelt she stood out like a beacon of happy disposition, he scoffed, his eyes wide in the darkness..." How...looovely, a ssssnack" He purred as he slunk forward till he was a short hop across where she stood, instead of sneaking up on her, thinking it be better to play the "game"

He cleared his throat, his grin still quite plastered across his face " nice evening...wouldn't you sssay?"

Karloff had been grazing in the woods. It was one of the very rare times that he had been craving sweet grass. It happened very rarely, but it did happen. He was after all, still a horse so some deep part of him like the grass it was never as strong as the part of him that craved blood.

As he grazed lazily, enjoying the solitude. Diavolos had stayed at home to watch over Ailbhe. Which was more like him clinging to her and Ailbhe protecting him, but that wasn't the point. Little Diavolos was family and he loved them with every fiber of his little being. He was very sweet, and though he was easily frightened he was completely loyal.

His thoughts hopped around gently, until he heard a low sound. It was harsh, almost hissing sound, edging closer he tried to find the sound.

Naomi had heard someone approach before she heard the male's voice in the approaching night. She lifted her head off of the tree and looked over at the male, head hanging a little bit from the stress of the day. It was easy to tell that she didn't really have much strength left until she rested up a little bit.

She cracked a smile at the stallion and looked at him; he was definitely the opposite of her when it came to their coats, but she wondered how he was like. Still smiling, she greeted the stallion. "Yes it is," she sighed. "The day seems to be ending very peacefully."

The fangs on the stallion made her worry a little bit, but she was not one to judge on someone's appearance. "What brings you to this part of the forest? I'm pretty sure it wasn't just to watch the gorgeous sunset."

Naomi giggled.

"Peacefull huuuuh?" he thought this very ironic " i ssssupossse~"He tilted his head a bit, so this female was either hiding some sort of inner strength, or she just was too dull to grasp the danger that was him. A sinister smile curled on his lips, far wider than any normal stallion's smile should go " Oh...i wasss ssssimply looking for...dinner" his milky white eyes stared at her, flat and unreadable " and no, you're right" he purred, his voice like poisoned satin "marvelousss asss the sssunssset isss...i prefer the dark"
He took another step forward, his shadowy tail flickering about in the slight wind, and what an ill wind it was.

"dont you like the dark?" he asked, his smile garishly wide, exposing quite a bit of his dangerous maw.

Karloff felt something. It was an odd sensation. Sniffing,he could smell something rather rank...it smelt like it was decaying and filthy. It was then that Karloff realized the smell was blood, but it was stagnant...like filthy sludge.

Wrinkling his nose, he followed the stench. Peering into the opening, he saw the dark stallion approaching a weak female. Something wasn't right. Karloff watched, and listened.

A shiver shot through Naomi's spine, not knowing if it was the sun dimming on the horizon or if it was... Something about the stallion. She smiled at him and slowly tried to get on her hooves. Over and over again, Naomi kept telling herself nothing bad would happen. Well, it seemed as though she was begging herself that nothing would happen; the day was ending soon and she wanted a peaceful night!

Once she got up to her feet, she decided that it would be better if she moved out of the darker part of the woods and maybe find a water source of some sort so the moon could shine down upon her. "I-I don't think I like the dark very much..."

Naomi tried to walk, stumbling slightly each time she'd have to go above a tree root. She was still hoping that nothing bad was happen, but she tried her best to head towards the open plains. She wasn't sure if she was scared, but her instincts told her to move. Now.

His long tongue flicked across his dangerously sharp maw as, like a snake, he scented the air, ahhh, there it was. Fear.
He noticed every twitch, every gleam of uneasiness settling upon this sunny mare, who suddenly seemed a lot less enthusiastic about his presence. Perfect.
He took another step, cracking a branch underhoof " But the dark issss where the bessst thingsss in life are...under the light of the moon and in the darkessst sssshadowsss" he hissed darkly, his luminous white eyes catching the last of the days light before it sank, defeated below the mountains in the distance...the night was painting the sky blue and purple, soon he would paint the area red...

He grinned as she tried to walk calmly, but he could sense her fear, he could see her faulting movements...He was predator, she, prey. And unfortunately for her, he was one of the smartest predators out there.
A smile lit upon his enormous maw " now...where would you be going at thisss hour, hmm? i ssssstill had much to...talk about" a dark laugh rumbled in his throat.

Karloff followed closely behind. Crouching low, in his feline movements. He waited to see what was going to happen, if the predator would give up the chase or press onwards.

But it seemed luck was against a peaceful evening, Karloff stepped out rising to his full height. "Is there something wrong?" His voice was it's typical low tone and smooth, but this time it had something else in it.

Karloff was on the other side of the stallion, far away from the mare. Taking easy steps, he made it so that he was an equal distance between them. His mighty muscles taunt and ready for action.

Chemosh had heard something faint off a short bit before, but had thought nothing of it, thinking it a small creature in the woods. Then the voice rumbled behind him, hinting at threatening. Chemosh whipped his head around to face the strange stallion and bared his fangs, hissing like a snake. This one would be trouble! he decided, thinking quickly, his shadowy tail lashing about like an angry cat. " Wrong? no, nothing at alllll, we were jusssst talking you sssee~" His voice dripped poison, his milky eyes narrowed to slits in his best " GO AWAY" stance. " Be on your way sssstallion"
