Harry Potter and his best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, return to Hogwarts for their sixth year of magical education. Before returning they find out that Emmeline Vance and Amelia Susan Bones are murdered by Lord Voldemort. It is announced that Severus Snape has become the new Defence Against the Dark Arts instructor, while Horace Slughorn has taken Snape's place as Potions teacher. Harry discovers that the previous owner of his Potions textbook, the "Half-Blood Prince", has annotated the book with refinements that allow Harry to excel in class and become a favourite of Slughorn's. Slughorn is also intrigued by the rumour that Harry is the "Chosen One" who will finally kill the evil Lord Voldemort, who is set on conquering the wizarding world.

This Roleplay is going to be set at the beginning of the 6th book, as the students arive at Hogwarts. The time line should stay in tact, Snape is still helping Draco fulfill his purpose, and Dumbledore will die. Though things will move in and out of this story line as characters enter the Roleplay.

Hermione Granger

Background:
Hermione Granger is Harry Potter and Ron Weasley's best friend. She is extremely smart and received an Outstanding in all of her O.W.L's except for her Defense Against the Dark Arts O.W.L, and has aced many exams in the past by more than 100%. Hermione Granger was brought up by Muggles and is an only child.

Personality:
Hermione is noted for being extremely intelligent and hard-working, coming out on top in most of her classes. Unlike most wizards who depend solely on their magical ability, Hermione readily relies on logic. Although this often helps her cleverly deduce information that many others miss. Her emphasis on logic also makes her sceptical about accepting anything without proof. She often acts as the voice of reason among her more impulsive peers, to varying levels of success, and is reluctant to break rules unless it is necessary in pursuit of something more important. She is not afraid to stand up to her friends when she thinks it is in their best interests or when she feels they are wrong.
Because of her intelligence and her opinionated nature, she has the reputation for being a bossy know-it-all. However, her sometimes abrasive confidence masks her insecurities and great fear of failure. She also tends to be rather argumentative, a trait most evident in her interactions with Ron. Although she is generally not as short-tempered as her friends.

Post Sample:
Hermione gave a bright smile as she entered her home away from home. Hogwarts School. She had missed the smell of old stone and parchment over the summer and was just happy to be back. Her long busy hair flowed over her shoulders as usual, her Gryffindor house robes placed neatly on her small frame. Under she wore the recommended white school shirt with dark gray sweater with her house colours on the bottom trim and cuffs. Along with her knee length gray skirt, knee high socks and of course brown class shoes. As she made her way to the Great hall she tightened her Gryffindor stripped tie before pulling the bundle of books into her chest. Hermione always had some sort of reading material in her arms. She seemed almost not herself without it. With grace she made her way to the Gryffindor table, taking a seat where the other 6th year students were. Her brown eyes looked around for Harry or Ron, not seeing either. A loud huff passed her lips as she placed her books on the table in front of her. Those two were never on time for anything, other then Quidditch. The brunette rested her gaze at the front of the room, watching the Teachers enter and take their seats. She wondered what was in store for the Golden Trio this year, as things around the wizarding world had been turned upside down with, You-know-who's return. It was definitely going to be an interesting year.
