Title
He gripped the stack of bills in his hand as tightly as he could as he ran down the street. Daemon was determined to be as far away from his house as possible. Guilt almost tripped him as he his legs carried him farther, as if it knew that he wasn't supposed be stealing.
"Hey, Ethan, I got it! I got the money for the ticket to the concert!" he shouted to his best friend who looked around a little shyly.
"Uh, dude, do you really think that it was a good idea?" Ethan asked while looking around, almost as if the others parents were going to jump out of no where. The black haired one, Daemon, shook his head at his friend. It was just a little money, it wasn't going to hurt anyone, right? He and his friend wanted to see this concert really bad, and he knew that his parents were going to say no, so this was just an alternative option.
Later that evening was the concert that the two boys had been waiting a whole month for it and nothing was going to stop them from seeing it. Daemon had a little problem though, he didn't know how to sneak past his parents. It was going to be tricky, but he was sure that once he was through, he and Ethan were going to have a blast. Climbing down the tree house latter that was right next to his bedroom window, but making sure that his mother didn't see him, he was on his merry way. Walking down the street he saw Ethan waiting for him on the corner of Callowmen, the main street of the town, and he saw his friend freezing. Of course the idiot forgot to bring a jacket, like he forgot everything else.
"Ethan...let's go. We're going to miss it. The show starts at nine, and so we gotta kick it into gear if we want to make it through the front doors in time." Daemon grabbed his friend and they ran to the nearest arena by their house, it was a small arena for a small town they lived in. The town's population was only so big and so this concert was a sight to see for such a tiny town. Hours later, the two boys walked out of the concert, their ears ringing from the music and giddy from the amazing time they had.
"AH! That was so awesome!" Ethan yelled to the air, just to shout it out to the world that this was the best day ever.
"Yeah! Let's do it again!" Daemon shouted together with his friend, but then he happened to look at his watch. It was almost midnight! "Shoot! Man, I gotta get home, you better head home too. See you later!!" His voice echoed as he ran down the street towards his house, and he groaned realizing that he had to go through the front door this time. Daemon quietly slid his key into the lock and slowly turned the knob as to not make any more noise than he had too. Slowly he made his way into the house and through the living room and just as he was going to head up the stairs, a lamp light light the room in just enough light to see that his mother was up and waiting for him.
'Ooops,' he thought.
"Where have you been, young man? It's way past your bedtime and you shouldn't even be out of the house past eight in the first place. It's almost midnight. Do you have an explanation?" His mother, Mary, stood next to the staircase with her hand firmly on her hips. Daemon's face paled as any kid caught lying would. He wasn't supposed to be out after dark and he really didn't want to tell his mother about the stealing money part. Dishonesty was a big no to his mother and she was bound to get angry after this little stunt. And as if he were five years old again, tears welled up in Daemons eyes like a baby, he began to feel them run down his cheeks.
"I'm sorry! Mum, I wanted to go and I knew that you wouldn't let me go if I asked and......I didn't really know what I was thinking!" Daemon then blurted out the whole story of stealing money from them and the concert that had gone on that night. He didn't go unpunished or unscathed, so now it was a boring sit down in his room for the rest of his young teen life. It was a horrible moment for both parent and child, but in the end it was just another experience.
Moral: No one should every steal and all you have to do is ask.
