Which I took as somewhat of a compliment, because the way I interpreted it, Kyle (the friend who told me) apparently thinks I look good without it. I don't remember how it came up, but it was relevant at the time, and I said I don't wear any at all. I stopped wearing it around the beginning of 12th grade, before I met him, and wore it twice up until today. Once for prom, and once I just put on green eye shadow for St Patty's day last year. But then another friend said that was an insult, and took it more like Kyle had meant "I don't think you're NATURALLY that pretty, so I assumed you wore make-up" or something like that. I totally don't think that's how he meant it at all, though... I guess you could view it either way, but I didn't think about it until the other friend mentioned it. Idk, LSG... if you weren't wearing make-up (or if you never do) and somebody said it looked like you were, what would you think?

Most guys seem to know nothing about makeup and it just makes me laugh.
I remember one time I showed a male lsger a picture of my friend at grad when she was wearing black eyeshadow, gothic style liquid liner, pencil liner on the bottom, mascara AND red lipstick and he started saying how she was naturally pretty and that I should wear less makeup to get similar results.

And no, unfortunately I wasn't being trolled. He really didn't know and later said he thought the eyeshadow was simply a shadow from light. WHAT?

Also Rai told me that he didn't even realize I wore much makeup from my photos, he thought it looked natural...wat?

Anyways, I think you should take it as a compliment as I doubt this boy was trying to insult you by saying that.
That being said, just because a girl wears makeup doesn't mean she's less pretty or naturally pretty than the girl who doesn't. It just means she wants to wear makeup.

I agree with Bre on this -- I doubt he meant any harm.

I've said this half a dozen times, but I don't wear makeup because I don't want to, regardless on how it could potentially improve my looks. :B So, yeah, whether you wear it or not doesn't make the person better or worse whatsoever.

I think even if the guy DID intend it to be taken as "She couldn't possibly be that pretty without make-up" (which I don't think so), I doubt even then he would have meant it as an insult razz

I get looks of shock and horror when I tell ladies here in Japan I don't wear make-up. xD Cracks me up because they all can't believe my skin is this shade and this "smooth" without tons of make-up on and they would all rather die than leave the house or go to work without about 5 layers of make-up on.
