Keep it if you want a solid investment. Most of the 2004 and all of the 2003 thank you letters and their items just keep going up up up. Penguin and seal slippers are highly liked and won't fall in price unless they get re-released (which they won't).
Sell it when you really need the gold or when you want to buy something else. But as an investment, you can't get much better than the early thank you letter items, especially the 2003 stuff. Plus they carry a certain prestige.
