Location: Cheppinhew
The buzz of the market was beginning to die as the true night began to engulf the streets; the deepest shadows slipping first through the alleyways and then onto the main streets, causing the City People to slowly begin the exodus indoors. The stall keepers were closing shop and packing their wares away; all unmindful to the book child that stood in their midst. She was a common sight. Every day she was there to dance and beg for attention from the passing populace. Now she was crouched down on the ground in front of an old worn hat, inspecting what little coins had landing within.
Talulah propped her elbow on her knee and dropped her chin into her palm, while the other hand tallied the coins and then poked at the folds of the hat, as if there could be hidden wealth within. There was barely enough to buy dinner with. It had been like this yesterday and the day before; people were simply growing so used to her there they couldn’t be bothered giving her money no matter how delightful her dancing was. But she was not disheartened, far from it. Today, she knew for certain, would be better. As for tonight…
Standing up with coins and hat in hand, Talulah watched for a moment as the stall keeper from her right and left finished off their packing and took off down the street. There was no one to dance for anymore. She would have to find another means of food and comfort for tonight. The girl shivered slightly, suddenly cold and very aware that she was alone. A shadow detached itself from a street nearby and began moving away along the street; not caring who it was, she began to follow. Her steps quickened so she was not left behind, bare feet barely making a sound.

Dorian wasn't walking, he strode. He was already late to dinner and he was sure that Garrett would be put out by now...or at least a little worried. Dorian cursed himself again for wandering so far into Cheppinhew. He was practically all the way across the city and there was no way he was going to make dinner in a timely manner.
Thinking to hail a carriage, Dorian paused, realizing that the street was nearly empty, the lamps having been long lit. To be honest, it was a bit creepy and he couldn't help a shudder. Who knew the market street was so dreary at night.
Huffing, Dorian continued on his way, hurrying faster than he usually liked to.
((Hope it's okay I joined in. I can delete this if not xDDD ))

The figure ahead of her was certainly moving fast and Talulah sped up. If she lost view of her quarry she didn’t know what she would do, other than start knocking on the closest door. Her top spread out behind her, the silken clothing glinting when it caught the light from the lamps.
So focused on the person she was following she wasn’t watching where she was putting her feet and her bare feet came down on a small pebble, instantly causing her to stumble. Talulah got her balance before she fell but she had come to a complete stop.
“Oh wait, please wait…!” She called out as she stood on one leg; her other foot held up high.
