How far do you guys figure this extends? I've been in violation of this code before, so I wanna proceed with some caution.
So more specifically; there's this girl I'm interested in, but her ex-boyfriend, of I think a year - year and a half-ish ago, is a friend of mine. Not necessarily a close friend, but a pretty cool guy all in all and he's also mutually friends with a lot of my other friends.
Well I went to this party last night, this girl was there and she was giving me some rather mild signs of interest. Frankly in all the time I've known her, maybe 2-3 years or so, last night was one of the times we spoke one-on-one. In fairness, I got to the party waaay late so she'd already had plenty of drinks and such by that time, so I tried not to take it too... "genuinely" I guess.
But admittedly I'm already digging around a bit to find out if she might like me, would I be wrong to go for this? I mean I don't know the guy too well to know if he's hung up on her or anything, but I think given how long ago they broke up and how rather casual friends we are that I should be in the clear if she does dig me, no?
I guess not only is it about what that friend would think, but I'm also concerned how the group of friends we all hang with might view it. They're a pretty accepting bunch, basically all my hippie friends, so I don't think it'd be that bad, but regardless I am at least mildly concerned.

Heard the cops came and broke it up pretty early anyways ;P As for the whole situationn, I mean I'm pretty good buds with Kev, I'm 99% positive he is not hung up on her, they're just pals. Her and um Kade had a thing awhile back but everyone thumbs downed it but I mean, you don't live in the house so that was sort of the concern they had so I mean, I can't really see anyone having a problem with you guys so go for it, Meghan's a pretty cool gal.

Yeah apparently I got there pretty much right after the cops had left, Things were still pretty happening though. In fact so happening the cops had to come again at like nearly 5, but since a good majority of the people were gone they just told us to keep it down more lol.
But yeah she is a pretty cool gal, I dunno, she did seem a little into me at the party. Maybe next time I see her I'll see how she reacts to me though, she was definitely a tad inebriated that night lol.

I think you should talk to your bro first and tell him about this. He might not mind but it also might upset him; just find out how he feels about it. If it would really bother him, you need to decide if the ho is worth it.

The bro code is really more like guidelines anyways. Go for it. I believe that after a girl breaks up with a guy or vice-versa, they're both entitled to date whoever the hell they want. It's over. It's not like she'll wait around while he stares at her forlornly from across the room for hours on end. That would get annoying and be stupid. Go for it, man. Wing it. If she breaks up with you too, you guys can be ex-sharing buddies. Which honestly isn't that bad, to tell you the truth. But mention it to him. That part of the bro code should be practiced. Check it before you wreck it. (Ahem, excuse my slang speak. ohohohoho.)
