Now, there was a most interesting thread about this in SF. Got me wondering.

Presumably, a pentagram is inscribed on the ground in some rituals. Or at the very least, appears on some object with no clear up. A coin or disc perhaps.

Given that to many neo-pagans, the "inverted" pentagram represents the negative, how does one isolate the negative from the positive in a non-orientable surface?

For example, if you draw one on the ground, then stepping around it clockwise would make it alternate from positive to negative and back again. How does the ritual then isolate which form of the pentacle it is?

Sorry Val, but I cant think of any argument, or anything to add. You already said it perfectly.

Both are considered the same thing.

The Negative/positive crap is for the Modern christians to fool themselves. [No offence to Christians. But Satan actually originated from the Lord of Wild]

See, that's what I thought, but there are many neo-pagans who also believe the upside-down or "inverted" to be a negative symbol.

If it's on a wall...
If it's on a floor you have to write something in it to show it's orientation.

Anything can be inverted if you try hard enough.

Universes, puppies, runes. Anything.

The question should be what aspect of the five are you trying to draw on and how do you intend to use it?
