(OOC: Well, the key differences between Beth and May was that Beth was trying to become Pride's host and that she hadn't annoyed Pride nearly as much as May had. Pride may be gullible, but he's not stupid so he's not just going to throw away his chance to pick his perfect host. Plus, his pride keeps him from accepting anything less than what his standards require. And Kato, I'm not asking you this because I really think you're weak; I just want to make sure because I've never really seen your rpc in action sweatdrop . Well, yeah, so how much of what Snuff said about you is true?) Pride continued to stare at Beth in the same bored manner. Bits and pieces of what she said sparked interest within his mind. However, it wasn't enough to make for what she had already done and continued to do. Besides, he had just thought of an interesting finishing move for Elizabeth, and he wanted to try it out. It would be a magnificent and unforgettable touch that only he would be able to do. Anyone else who tried it, even if they imitated it perfectly would be unable to pull it off. Why? Simple, it was because they weren't him. Before that, though, his pride forced him to pompously address and retort to each and every one of Beth's insults. "If I did not choose to prove myself, where would my pride be?" the sin began from the very beginning, "I am Pride. I AM GOD!!! Thus, I have every right to flaunt my power in whatever style I choose to do so. Just because I choose to take this form of excess action does not mean I must do this action in the form I have chosen," his eyes than narrowed ever so slightly so that even as they maintained their bored expression they also became deadly and dangerous, "If I wish to, I can easily change my style. Perhaps that's what I should do since you so wrongly deny that you are impressed in any way. I shall be the one to show you the light, to show how wrong you were in trying to suppress your awe at what I can do," and here he made a wide gesture at everything in general, his eyes back to being just bored, "I shall lead you out of your dark tunnel. I will show you the truth. You will no longer have to stare at shadows created by an artificial light and artificial figures. I AM GOD!!!". After that long reply to the first part, Pride then continued on to the next part of Beth's talk, his face bored once more, "On to the next order of business. As for me having only 2 candidates, who do you think I am? I AM GOD!!! There are many more out in the world of Axiom for me. I care not if I run through you lousy, low-leveled lot. All the others are just as lousy and low-leveled as your are. You all are maggots, bacteria, meaningless existences. I AM GOD!!! SHUT UP I'M SERIOUS!!! I care not for how strong my host is, I care for one thing and one thing only. One thing that is more important than anything else. Except for, well, me of course. Although, such a statement is hard to say. It's like saying a rare, polished jewel blazing bright as a star millions of times greater than the sun exploding into a supernova is less or more rare than a rare, polished jewel blazing bright as a star a million-and-one--note, a million-and-one exactly, no more and no less, not nine-hundred-ninety-nine-thousand-nine-hundred-ninety-nine or a million or a million-and-one or even a million--times greater than the sun exploding into a supernova." Right there, Pride suddenly changed tone, his voice now cutting and analytical as his eyes and newly formed smile seemed to become mad with what would be translated into an urge to fight and kill. Meanwhile, the entire room suddenly grew more ominous, the light from the fire-like jewels shone brighter but in a much more limited space, casting large shadows everywhere. The excess of shadows, all of which created an uneven surface, further enhanced the effect. All this happened in a part of a moment, not even long enough for someone to draw breath as Pride abruptly asked immediately after his last sentence, no pause, "So you pride yourself in your strength? SHUT UP! I'M SERIOUS!!!".

(i'm confused...his pride will keep him from picking pretty much anyone, as he sees they are ALL lower than him. If his pride is so great, he'll never be able to stoop down and say, you're what i need...) -Elizabeth Bishop- XKusanaXExpertXKiranuXNinjaX Kiranu: +2 to speed Strength: 7 Speed: 11 Energy: 1150 Shurikan: 120/120 Beth nodded at pride, trying to brush off a small shiver that ran down her spine when the room changed. She stoop up straight and looked pride dead in the eyes and said, "I take pride in many things. My skills as a ninja, my nation of origin, and even my heritage, no matter how flawed it may be, it is who I am, and without it, I'd be nothing, lower than low. My class may be lowly, hiding in the shadows, but it is who I am. My nation may be a push over, but it is where I am from. My people may be distracted by the slightest glimmer or movement, but It is who I am. To deny and take shame in these would be to deny and take shame upon myself, and that is one thing I will never do. 'A great person is measured not by their strengths, but by their flaws', and I bear my Strengths AND flaws proudly!" As she spoke, her words lost all signs of attempts at gaining pride, deceit and alterier motives. Some deep passion arose in Beth and guided her words, giving them a proud, powerful, and confident sound to them.
[never thought i'd quote Adventure Time...lol]

(OOC: And that's where everyone goes wrong. He doesn't need to say that he needs someone for them to be his host. You're right, though, he never will say he needs someone so stop trying to convince him that he needs you. What Pride is looking for is someone he deems worthy of his power. Now, think about how all the other sins chose their hosts, what were they looking for? Then connect the reactions Pride had, the consistent ones at least. When did he grow interested? When did he say that he didn't care? I don't suggest trying to connect when he threw a childish tantrum and stuff, those actually were somewhat random sweatdrop . Somewhat random in the sense that I wasn't really trying to show anything through them but not completely random in the sense that they did reflect a bit of Pride's personality. Now then, time to read your post.) The room and Pride's expression remained the same as he laid back against the back of his chair his eyes seemed to spark with something but that spark was quickly extinguished, not like Beth would have been able to notice it even if it remained. If anything changed, it seemed that he was extremely satisfied with himself, as always the one thing he couldn't hide was his pride. "Such useless things to take pride in," the Sin commented nonchalantly, the wicked, maniacal grin still spread across his face. As he spoke, he thought, .

( i actually never got a chance to see how the other sins opperated...I was told that crew just said, "hey, he's lazy, lets give him sloth" and so on) -Elizabeth Bishop- XKusanaXExpertXKiranuXNinjaX Kiranu: +2 to speed Strength: 7 Speed: 11 Energy: 1150 Shurikan: 120/120 Beth smiled at pride, he hadnt insulted her, maybe she was making progress. "You may say it is useless, but to deny my flaws is to deny myself. If I acknowledge my flaw, I can work towards achieving more power and worth in the world. Without flaws, I'd be perfect, and have no meaning to work. It is because I am imperfect that I can achieve so much, if I put my mind and heart to it. I am grateful and proud that I was born imperfect." Her tone grew even more confident with each word she spoke. It was true how she felt, she may not like her flaws, but it was what made her great, and she was proud of everything she had, for it gave her life meaning.

(OOC: Yes, well, that was basically supposed to be how the sins themselves chose their hosts even if in real life it was the crew sweatdrop .) Pride didn't care whether or not Beth was perfect. Although, if she had said that she was perfect, it would have been better. Still, though, her pride in her imperfection was pride nonetheless. However, the small Sin made no indication at all of what he was thinking other than slightly puffing up his chest a bit in pride of himself. He was conceited, no doubt. His expression did change ever so slightly though. The insane, homicidal grin he had been wearing became even more blood-thirsty, more ready to pounce on Beth and rip her to shreds. On cue, as the smile became more freaky, so did the lights. Now, the shadows they were casting seemed to create a very distinct yet formless shape, a shape that looked like three eyes lined up vertically next to each other one moment and then regular shadows the next. This image was constantly portrayed throughout the room, clusters of the eyes appearing in several places at once, only to disappear as they were shown elsewhere. The image even flashed on Pride's face every now and then, lighting up for just a moment the now shadow-covered top half of his face with the three-eye-pattern while his creepy smile consistently remained in the light in clear view. "So, because you're so proud of your imperfections, you think you're prouder than me? I AM GOD!!!!" the Sin purred/sneered in a blood-lusting voice bordering insanity. (OOC: Lols, have no idea why I put so much emphasis on insanity in this post, but I wanted to use Kishin's eyes and Kishin's eyes are not complete without lots of mentions of insanity whee .)

(lol, i thought of Pride from FMA... that's like his ability too, lol) -Elizabeth Bishop- XKusanaXExpertXKiranuXNinjaX Kiranu: +2 to speed Strength: 7 Speed: 11 Energy: 1150 Shurikan: 120/120 Beth didnt budge as the room became increasingly more creepy and Pride grew scarrier. She had dodged all his attacks up to now, why shouldnt she be able to get out of this next one if it came to it? She looked him in the eyes, taking a few seconds to speak. "Pride, I take shame in nothing, everything that is right or wrong with me, has made me the great ninja I am today. It is obvious that you show no shame in yourself as well, and it gives me even greater pride to say..." she mimiced Prides face before she spoke, "We are the same, you and I. However differently we may show our pride, We are on an equal playing field"

(OOC: Hm, true. Forgot about that whee . Alright, this next post is going to be tricky. I have the basic idea, but I don't know how to execute just yet so....) Immediately, the room returned to normal, back to the way it had been in the beginning. Even the extra statues that had appeared in the middle of the conversation were gone, leaving only those that had been present in the room since the beginning. With the drastic change of the room, came a drastic change in Pride's face. No longer was it openly menacing. Now, instead, it was menacing in a more calm, cold, and calculated way. His eyes, while they seemed dead glimmered with a deadliness that was completely genuine and the thin mouth of his line seemed to just barely contain some strong, horrible power. His body was relaxed, but also threatening to the point that it seemed as if he could and would attack at any moment without warning. "Excuse me?" the now ice-cold voice hissed out, "Did you just compare your measly, insignificant pride to mine? Did you just put on equal footing a pride that equals nothing to one that is as great as I am? A pride that is the greater than anything else? A pride that can never be equaled by any imbecilic being like every being in this universe? How dare you." At the last sentence, Pride tilted his head up and looked down at disgust at Elizabeth. He continued, still as aloof and dangerous as before, "However, your pride, as wrong as you are, impresses me. All that is required is for me to teach you." The lights went off completely. Once more, Elizabeth was standing in a completely blank space of nothing. A moment later, she would feel a sudden burning, piercing torrent of pain rain down on all sides of her and even within her. If she screamed, she would be unable to hear herself. If she tried to grasp at where it hurt the most, she would find that it seemed as if her entire body no longer existed. How long the indescribable pain lasted, pain that was more than enough to kill anyone, the girl couldn't know. It could be years, minutes, seconds, moments, days, decades. The last thing she would hear--well, not exactly hear, more like feel--would be Pride's voice, announcing, "But don't expect me to do anything for you until you learn your measly place." Then, her eyes would open as if she had just been dreaming and she would find herself in the place that she had been taken from. There would be no indication of anything that had happened. Even the presence of Pride within her wouldn't be felt until she called out for him specifically. Possibly the only way she would find out that the entire journey through the Tower was real would be when she asked for the date and found that too much time for just a simple nap would have passed. (OOC: In short, the end result is that Pride is going to listen to Elizabeth a lot less than his normal amount, which is already small as it is. However, she still gets Pride. Remember, Pride will only listen if 1) Elizabeth acknowledges that Pride is more prideful than she is and 2) if Elizabeth acknowledges Pride as god. In other words, you have to fulfill those two requirements if you want to use any of Pride's abilities.)

Mikura was asleep when the hand reach out through a portal and grabbed him. He would have screamed, not in fear but in rage as he was pulled through but the grip of the hand had taken his breath away. He was soon on his knees in the middle of a busy street in luimira city...
